Do they also take "massive tax write offs" for their worldwide volunteer programs to help kids? No, no they don't. There's no financial incentive to volunteering. Your jaded loathing of Disney is misplaced, ignorant, and does not belong on a website called WDWMagic.
You defend Disney's humanitarian efforts and then immediately preach intolerance. That's rich.

Calling out an obvious troll for derailing a thread and attacking people is not "preaching intolerance". Are we supposed to be "tolerant" towards trolls now?

So you've labelled him a troll after expressing your intolerance. What's next? Would you like to be in charge of indoctrination for all members?

I have absolutely no idea what you're going on about now. But you're ranting, so I'm ignoring you now. Seeya.

Where does that even exist? Why would anyone do it? I've never, ever, never in my life seen, experienced, or remotely heard of anything of the sort. I would laugh if someone even offered it..and wait for the punchline.

Show me an example of a retail store who's prices are different based on location. On the same item. Not a Starbucks or McDonalds.. Show me a corporate owned store such as Anthropolgie or Kate Spade or Under Armour who change their MSRPs on a specific item that is offered at another geographical location.

I haven't been to DS since these stores open, so I haven't seen it. I just find it hard to believe without proof.

I guess you've never lived in Hawaii or Alaska :)

Toysrus is notorious for adjusting prices locally within the toy community as well

Already drank it.
Well that's not very friendly.

I have not. So you are saying that the stores I mentioned are changing their prices?

Here's a Kate Spade bag that's pretty popular. I know for a fact it is the same price in 2 stores in 2 different States as well as the website. Is it a different price at the Kate Spade store in Disney Springs?

What about this Under Armour shirt? Is the price higher at Disney Springs?

Things in Hawaii are generally more expensive across the board, simply because of the shipping involved.

Could somebody please remind me what the original intent of this post was? Forgive me for not hanging on every post. It's completely off the rails.

It's become a Twilight Zone of 10-cent psychologists, decadent mall shopping pseudo intellectuals and people from New Jersey looking to argue for the sake of argument.

In no particular order.

Moderator. Eye in the sky big Mother is watching...

Instead of locking down discussions on real topics such as actual news stories of people trying to carry guns into the Parks this week you prefer topics about nothing and people insulting each other right and left. You have no shame or conscious moderator.

In my opinion you are a pathetic coward, censoring, pandering, agenda driven weasel and are clearly politically steering discussions by way of locking them down and protecting Disney and serving your own beliefs by shutting down any conversation whatsoever that may be contrary.

Could we please at least have new forum categories for people that just want to argue and compare purse prices. That seems more your exciting journey.

Disagreeing and debating is one thing but the forums are becoming ads for products within discussions and Un-American censorship.

F if I know - I didn't make any claims about ds- just debunked your usual "I've seen it all" statements

I understand that companies do this and I think that customers are aware of it; manipulation is by definition a deceptive practice. Not all customers are going to be susceptible to such influence. Certainly with a WDW vacation, one must do their research. The onus is on the customer to know what they are getting, know their options, and decide what they are willing to pay for.

My sister-in-law is in marketing, and Christmas a few years ago she almost started a fight by talking about how susceptible people ARE to marketing manipulation tactics. I wish I could remember more of the details she talked about, but the main thing was: if you asked people if they are susceptible, everyone says they aren't or are only sometimes a willing participant "that's a good deal for me, that's why I did X." That's where the almost fight came in, because everyone said, "Of course *THEY* aren't being actually manipulated." And she kept saying that's the point, "You may really believe you aren't, but all the data says you actually do modify your behavior in the way the businesses want and expect."

Nice! This thread in a nutshell. :hilarious:

Most of my family members have a business/finance/econ background (and myself to a certain extent) and I could still easily see that happening at one of our lively holiday dinners. I think that is what is happening here - most of us participating in this thread on marketing or elsewhere know the tricks and the anticipated effects.

ETA: May I emphasize that I said 'not all customers are going to be susceptible'.

To try and keep this on-topic - has Disney Springs announced any new holiday promotions? I could see it being a very popular destination this holiday season.

The original intent was to fan the flames of Disney Sucks.
