My family stays on site and uses DME. The resort buses drop off at the opposite end from EOS and World of Disney. We walk enough at the parks during the day. Not gonna hoof it around DS to get a sandwich and a souvenir. I think there should be more resort bus stops.

That's exactly how I feel. For the average visitor who is in the parks all day, more walking at DS really is unappealing.

They do offer water taxis to get to the three areas of DS pretty quickly. They arrive every 10 minutes or so.
Still sounds more convoluted than I prefer. But that might just be me. DS is never a "must do" for us. Make it harder to get to the places I do like and my cost benefit analysis will tip the scales in favor of just not going.

I guess the PITA factor is just greater for me because we go to WDW sometimes and DLR sometimes and the WDW version just seems so much harder to access.

I'm so baffled. You'd like more bus stops, but instead they offer boats that come more frequently than buses do and take you directly to the different parts of DS itself rather than a bus stop outside, but stepping onto a boat is too "convoluted"?

It sounds to me like you simply don't like the idea of Disney Springs, which is fine.

Thank you sir. You were an inspiration.

Not really
Old option get on bus at resort ... stay on bus until it gets to the stop you want.
New option get on bus , get of at stop , wait for boat , get on boat , get off at the right stop.

does that explain convoluted ?

And for the record i can't wait to visit DS next year so no hate here.

For me, standing and waiting 10 minutes for a boat to take me to another section of a shopping mall is totally unappealing. Especially after I have waited for transportation throughout my vacation to get to the parks. As someone else has said, why go to DS when I can get the same merchandise for less hassle and less money elsewhere?

Not really. If you're getting off at the central bus depot, the places they were looking to get to are a two-minute walk at most.

Once in DS, if you're looking to get from one end to the other, it's a five-minute boat ride.

I'd much prefer those options than the old hassle of three separate time-consuming bus stops at the three ends, whether you like it or not.

Yes. Exactly that.

And I don't hate DS by any means. I just can take it or leave it.

I am not sure how Disney didn't see this coming if true. The great part about the Walt Disney World Village and Downtown Disney were it's uniqueness to Disney. Disney Springs has really turned into a mall albeit with more Disney stores then a typical mall. Will the majority of people who visit those non Disney stores really buy anything there when most of that stuff can be had online and at a cheaper price? Hell now you can even buy WDW, DL, DCL merchandise online and for cheaper prices. I personally think this area should have not tried to expand to bring in so many 3rd party retailers. Expanding it for capacity is all they should have done and put the Monorail in like the WDW Village was suppose to.
How do you expand for capacity without increasing retail space?

WoD is pretty much anything you can find in the parks of generic stuff. CoOp is more unique stuff but some of it can be found elsewhere as well. There are just so many ways that you can present Disney themed merchandise and keep it interesting. Bringing in third party vendors was a must to expand.

I agree, but I think Disney should have found vendors of rare merchandise.

Simple, Put in a few new buildings walkways. Move current retail space to those new buildings, knock down walls in the old space to expand the remaining retail space. Add a few more restaurants. Build a Monorail from Epcot or TTC

I may have missed it discussed already but one of the huge plusses for Springs, in addition to the smart parking garages, was the addition of the dedicated bus lanes for Disney Transportation. I would imagine the number of bus/vehicle collisions have decreased as well as the average time to get from Point A to Springs and back.

How much would that monorail cost?
here it comes guys... get ready for it...

"1 Million Dollars per Mile"

I am not sure how much these days. At this point it is cement, re-bar, tree clearing, electrification/automation wiring and electrical generator upgrades. How much does all that coast, I don't know.

Especially if that wait is in the hot sun. And if that makes me privileged, then so be it.
