Disney Springs construction begins

I'm almost certain they are just going to plant it with trees, shrubs and bamboo. The side that was formerly pointed towards the parking lot is going to be fenced off and considered back stage. There's already evidence of this with the peach colored brick structure that's an area for a dumpster. additionally the asian inspired concrete structure next to it has no windows on the side pointing to T rex.

They did, and it's an eyesore. In more positive news, you can see one of the main springs here in the center of the photo.

BTW the $80,000 excavator in the middle of it tells me it was not intentional. OOPS
no big deal, it didnt reach the engine, it's fine. now if all you could see was the boom... then they would have to let it dry out and it would likely crank right up. as long as there is no water in the fuel tank, or in the cylinders themselves. everything else is fairly wartertight

Oh I know. I ran this type of equipment quite a bit in my former life.

and i get the gist of your comment, yes, no one would park that where they knew it was going to flood... i see it as lazy contractors that didn't want to walk it out of the hole overnight

Photo update as of Tuesday, June 30.

Joffrey's "Tea Traders Café" coming to The Landing in the building directly across from The Boathouse, next door to the Gelato store which just opened. The windows are still covered, but work is ongoing inside.

A close-up look at the trees and vegetation recently planted along the T-Rex Café "jungle wall", which forms a border of the new Disney Springs River. Definitely some big trees here.

Thanks for another round of pictures @WDWtraveler. Always happy to see you've been out and about with the camera again.

Honesty as the foreman I wouldn't really even be ticked about the machine getting wet. It's the entire bunk of lumber and the concrete forms that I'd be ticked about. The concrete forms in particular suck because it's very likely they will have to be ripped out and replaced or at least reset which could take days.
