ummmmm OK, I think having shade structures are a great idea...its Florida! They just seem odd. I wonder how much the lawyers were involved in these "code" issues? I think some simple "A" framed structures with terra cotta on them would have fit the theme just fine. Just seem out of place. We all know the back story, the plans that were in place. We know why they are there. How many other people that just go there know this? I see most people looking up and wondering.......W T H? It isn't that I hate them.....just seems odd.

they probably just haven't gotten to it yet, and taking them down would in some way signify the official change over to "Disney Springs" and "The Landing"

possible but I doubt it, as I wouldn't think they'd want to create physical divisions between the west side, the landing, the town center. other than than the walkways and bridges

Maybe it's just me but from pictures of what Downtown Disney is becoming....it looks underwhelming.

Though the past couple years, Downtown Disney hasn't not been pleasant experience. It has gotten way too crowded especially the big Disney store.

I'd give them a while to complete things like landscaping, lighting, decorative details, etc... those things can make a huge difference.

Quick question.... why keep the railings up there if they do not intend to allow people on top of the upper area by the food trucks?

Disney Springs construction photo update as of Sunday, Nov 16. New display windows on storefront in passageway between Raglan Road and Portobello's.

At Paradiso 37, the "walk-up" bar/railing is nearing completion. This will afford a nice view of the courtyard in front of The Hangar and the street in front of Paradiso 37. Currently, there are red barstools at the railing.

The deck/pier is taking shape at the Marketplace across from The Co-Op. By placing existing kiosks here, it will open up the street in the Marketplace.

Steel decking installed around the perimeter of The Boathouse, out to the building in the lake, and at the boat ramp in the foreground.

The T-Rex end of the causeway is now obscured with several newly planted trees and palms (center of photo below). Now sure if this is permanent, or a staging area for trees to go elsewhere.

Food Truck park. As shown by the recent aerial photos, landscaping and plantings are installed. Today the workers were putting finishing touches on paint. This "over the wall" photo near Starbucks shows the area should be open soon for guests.

Additional photo updates as of Sunday, Nov 16. An "over-the-wall" view from Paradiso 37 looking "uphill" on the street towards Planet Hollywood. A low rockwall with street light has been installed on the left, but it appears more underground work is being done in the middle of the street.
