No, not really :) I mean, both times we've gone, we've stayed in the same hotel in Denver across from the airport, but that's about it! LOL
Years ago in Edinburgh I met a student from Denver,Colorado.I still remember her name.Jeanne Frey. She'll be about 50 years old now,she always wore this Stetson at night in the pub.She always reminded me of the actress Sissy Spacek ( Carrie ) without the powers, thank god.

Do you have a pretrip ritual? The day before we leave I always get a fil and pedi(mani pedi). Any pretrip anxity is gone. Best part my feet will be pretty in sandals (don't want to offend anyone)

That's when my anxiety reaches maximum potential. I run around like a chicken with my head cut off, making sure I haven't forgotten anything, weighing the luggage so as not to incur extra baggage fees, triple checking my checklist - you know, the normal type A stuff.

I may have to try the pedi this time.

About 8 weeks from our trip, I normally start getting out the suitcases and doing what I call prepacking. I gather up everything we will need for the trip that we won't be using before the trip (coolers, swimming truncks, tanktops, etc). I get a roll of quarters to use for toll booths, squished penny machines and anything else we may need quarters for on the trip. I get my van checked out to make sure it's good to go on such a long road trip, and the Friday or Saturday before leaving, I thouroughly clean out the inside of the van, vaccuum it and wash it. My wife and son like to buy a magazine for the road trip.

I also get a pedi a few days before. I will go food shopping (non-perishables) and I also clean my house really well, making sure there are no dishes left, garbage is out and laundry is done so when we come home there isn't anything to do but get milk on the way home from the airport. :)

we have stuffed mickey and minnie in our living room, holding a whiteboard that counts down the days until we go. We watch the vacation dvd, then play all our old photopass dvd's on the tv..
This year I am getting a pedi instead of doing my own..lol
and we all try to get haircuts that week so we look good in pics.

Funny! I tried this, but my technician was foreign and did not understand my request - she made teeny-tiny bunnies instead!
I'm so sorry to hear that .My tech is great fluent English and her ds & My ds both play Kingdom Hearts and Epic Mickey so she does a mean Mickey and does little hidden Mickeys.

Does not sleeping due to excitement count as a ritual? It's definitely not intentional, but my mind just spins the night before a trip.
That's the reason for the mani pedi the day before. I'm a type A and then some when packing uaually done at least 2 or 3 days prior. At least with my "ritual" I'm at least somewhat calmish at bedtime.

I always clean the house really well before I leave for any trip, paying attention to little details. I toss put perishables and fix the tassels on the rug - that sort of thing. And i put the sheets through the wash and toss them in the dryer before I go.

I like to home to a clean, fresh house.

I almost always buy new socks and shoes before a trip. Not sure why. Just like that.
