Disney Quest to close in July 2017

Like the debate whether this is a bad idea or a terrible idea?

All I can say is that my wife and I will not bother with that building... didn't before, won't now....
All personal opinion - I'm not necessarily right, no one else is necessarily wrong.

Nope, closest thing is the former NBA restaurant at CityWalk.

I cannot wrap my head around what this will or could include. The description isn't much of anything.

If it fails, Disney can easily convert it to an ESPN concept. If it doesn't fail, the space is off their hands. Either way, the execs probably view this move as a win. It's a big loss though, for all non-NBA fans, myself included. Such a big missed opportunity here.

I don't think that is a good idea in today's market. The reasoning is ESPN has been losing subscribers and been affecting the price of Disney stock.

Not interested in basketball or NBA at all, so I won't be visiting this.

Maybe they should have done a Haunted Mansion themed Escape Room experience instead of an NBA Experience?

Will the NBA whatever be occupying the space like it was reported before? I would have thought something regarding ESPN (Disney owned) would be a good fit if you want sports related.

yeah...my NBA arena has an interactive skills area. I think this place will need to take it up a notch though...

I do like the unique family entertainment part.

More sports themed junk? Yuck. Another place I will happily avoid at Disney Hope its a fun place for those who enjoy this type of thing though!

Yeah, but we're talking about a large building with multiple floors. It's tough for me to imagine how they will fill that up with NBA/basketball themed activities. Though, you're missing the certain large NBA merchandise store that will surely be a part of it.

I do feel like a good sports bar would be a welcome addition to DS though.

I never really felt Disney had a surplus of sports stuff. Other than WWOS - not many other things I can think of with that. Not saying I want this, but don't feel saturation if done right.

But what about the other 3 floors?
NBA is of little interest to an international audience, so immediately half your customers won't go in there.
Just convert the thing into the Universe of Disney store already.

Maybe they get rid of a floor or two? Have a restaurant and bar as the top level with high ceilings, and basketball props/memorabilia. The other floors have your games, and NBA themed activities. Of course you have a store which will probably be on the main floor for ease of access. Maybe some basketball simulators, Xbox or PlayStation gaming area to play the latest 2KNBA game.

Particularly in China. Its also big in some parts of South America.

NBA couldn't even make a restaurant work at City Walk, what makes them think this will work at Disney Springs. This will be an epic failure.

Let's not forget how well the NBA experience will fit into the Disney Springs theme too
