Disney Quest to close in July 2017

You know what's funny?
is there an existing NBA Experience like this in the world? I am just wondering if there is something to compare it to because I don't really know what to expect.

If it fails, Disney can easily convert it to an ESPN concept. If it doesn't fail, the space is off their hands. Either way, the execs probably view this move as a win. It's a big loss though, for all non-NBA fans, myself included. Such a big missed opportunity here.
I don't think that is a good idea in today's market. The reasoning is ESPN has been losing subscribers and been affecting the price of Disney stock.

well...that really isn't close at all..lol

I cannot wrap my head around what this will or could include. The description isn't much of anything.
I am thinking along the lines of it including a restaurant, bar, game room type area, and a basketball skills area similar to the stuff they do for the activities outside the Super Bowl.

I do like the fact that it's trying to be a family oriena

I do like the unique family entertainment part.
“Basketball fans of all ages will be able to experience the game in a whole new way when they visit ‘The NBA Experience at Walt Disney World Resort,’” said Bob Chapek, chairman of Walt Disney Parks and Resorts. “We’re excited to join the NBA in offering this unique form of family entertainment. It will be a terrific addition to the world-class lineup of shops and restaurants coming to Disney Springs.”

Yeah, but we're talking about a large building with multiple floors. It's tough for me to imagine how they will fill that up with NBA/basketball themed activities. Though, you're missing the certain large NBA merchandise store that will surely be a part of it.

I do feel like a good sports bar would be a welcome addition to DS though.

But what about the other 3 floors?
NBA is of little interest to an international audience, so immediately half your customers won't go in there.
Just convert the thing into the Universe of Disney store already.

Maybe they get rid of a floor or two? Have a restaurant and bar as the top level with high ceilings, and basketball props/memorabilia. The other floors have your games, and NBA themed activities. Of course you have a store which will probably be on the main floor for ease of access. Maybe some basketball simulators, Xbox or PlayStation gaming area to play the latest 2KNBA game.
