I cannot believe this actually went through! Feels like such a waste of space. Still, I'm glad it'll be open for my visit in April. Maybe they'll lower admission so I can actually take a look around for once!

I don't think its possible, unless there is something in the contract allows 2 soft drink companies at Disney Springs.

Disney still has their contract with coke and a Coca Cola store opened at Disney Springs last year. Coke isn't going anywhere as a result. Disney even allows Coke to have their Coca Cola Bear to have a meet and greet in the Coca Cola store building.
Yeah I do know that was one of the things that was holding the project up, I could see an agreement being made in respect that Pepsi can't be promoted or advertised that it is served there basically you go to eat order a coke and they say we have Pepsi, that's the extent of the marketing.

I will never not be mad about this, Disneyquest has fantastic potential that was just left to waste and rot.
kjhgf Could you imagine an updated Alien Encounter game that included more of the lore and stuff?
damn it disney ugh an update wouldnt have been expensive at all, DQ could have been something super special especially with the focus on VR these days.

Not interested in basketball or NBA at all, so I won't be visiting this.

Maybe they should have done a Haunted Mansion themed Escape Room experience instead of an NBA Experience?
Like a giant Haunted Mansion? Five floors of Haunted Mansion awesomeness? Now I would be all in for that! I'm still waiting foe Haunted Mansion resort, or Tower of Terror resort. I might never leave.....

I don't think that is a good idea in today's market. The reasoning is ESPN has been losing subscribers and been affecting the price of Disney stock.

Everything goes through a slump at points. ESPN's slump is because it's been a part of a dying model. It didn't make sense for people to pay for 100 other channels if they just wanted ESPN. That's starting to change and because of that, I believe ESPN will see a return to its former success. We'll see though, but I don't see the brand dying.

So what will be the NBA experience? Arcade games about fouling, maybe throw some acting classes and drama into the mix to make it a complete experience. Now a NCAA place could be fun.
I heard there's going to be an entire room to practice your flopping skills...with a replay showing on a giant screen so you can see yourself afterwards.

It would make the ultimate 'Escape Room' experience and it's Disney themed. I believe that people travel to the Walt Disney World resort because they enjoy Disney themed entertainment. They aren't going to WDW to shop at expensive stores they could browse at their local mall or to play basketball, they are looking for places to eat and things to do that they can't do at home and that are Disney themed.

The only game I really liked was Pinball Slam....Just about a year ago they finally switched to HD Projection and the image is much better than it was before..

I hope they could incorporate it to the NBA Experience and retheme it to basketball pinball...But, I doubt it...:(
I used to work at Disney Quest and have this trivia about Mighty Ducks Pinball Slam.
As you can see below, you stand at those stations (they are on airbags under the platform) and rock back and forth to move your ball within the game on the projection screen. Some dudes would really work those things, I mean really, embarrassingly hard. Some to the point if they lost their grip they'd fly off like it was a mechanical bull.
The fun part is that the less you move them the better you will do. Disney programmed the game so that the little kids (who really don't have enough weight to effectively control the ball in the game) would always win or at least be competing amongst peers.
As a CM, you would have to turn off all the stations that didn't have anyone on them, otherwise they would win the round. It was fun to watch a college aged guy working the living heck out of the thing and have him get beat by a 10 year old kid.
Good times.

Yep....and Turkey, Israel, and probably a few more countries. It's not just popular with Americans.

Can't completely picture what this is going to be..but it sounds neat. I think that it will be nice to have a sports attraction at Disney World.
It's very popular with Americans it's the 2nd most watched sport in this country.

Well, now to finally find out what Disney will do with the two unused 1-day DQ tickets I've been sitting on for the past 10+ years... (I'm hoping for two 1-day water park tickets rather than just offering purchase price credit...)
