Disney Pulls Starbucks Mug from Epcot Shelves

Better yet... ignore the stupid average selling price of $250. It is a fricking coffee mug!

It's a toss up folks as to what is more stupid... the pulling of these mugs in the first place or the person buying one at $250

That's the problem I have with them pulling these mugs. By reacting to perceived sensitivity and pulling the mug they created a demand over an item that would not have been 'collectible' if no one had died. So in this case, death = collectibility. (Not in my book it isn't, and shame on those who have promoted this as such!) To remedy this situation they should start production back up on the exact same color scheme with the same color monorail.

We are morbidly fascinated over something that is a nothing which leads to proof positive we are all crazy.:p
Or very much on the way! However, if only we could get through to companies like Disney that doing things like this makes them seem spineless, unsure and without any common sense at all. I still love Disney, but, if that is the type of people that are going to be running the company over the next few years, I have my doubts about it's continued existence. The best thing that could happen to a Disney park right now is to be sold to someone that knows what they are doing. These guys/girls have no clue.

What's the saying... You can't make an omelette without breaking a few eggs?

Too many people are very sue happy or at the least, over sensitive. This creates an environment where expression can't be had because the company is too busy protecting its image, products, etc and defending why it did what it did. In this case, it wasn't even Disney, it was Starbucks, but Disney is taking the action.

THIS IS WHY WE CAN'T HAVE NICE THINGS!!!!! LOL

The reason that we are in such a sue happy society is because no one will take a stand on anything. It would be a real chore to convince anyone that an almost un-seeable color on an almost un-seeable monorail on a small cup would be that traumatic for anyone. I would think that it should be more traumatic to realize that their over-sensitivity has caused the loss of a young persons life to now be commercialized and profited from. It is time to re-inject intelligence in our emotions and understand that the world does not revolve around a few individuals with overactive tear glands and inability to cope with life.

Next thing you know, all the Prince Philip (sword and shield set) and all the Pirates of the Caribbean stuff will be pulled back because well, people got killed by swords and pirates....

I was up in Wisconsin today and Chicago had shipped their "L" train mugs up to Wisconsin's outlet mall. Seems Illinois is a bit more discriminating in what they are willing to pay for a mug than tourists at Disney.
