Disney Playing catch up with Universal... Potter Disney's biggest mistake in 20 years...

He was responding to this statement:

"Would Disney rather lease Potter to their theme parks and pay JK royalties, or buy Star Wars outright and create new content across all mediums at their disposal."

Certainly, you don't believe that the only 'mediums at Disney's disposal' are theme park attractions, or do you?
I don't know what "mediums" are at all, but I know about "media." ;)

That's why I went into the pool.

I mean, I get that some people can only shoot in RAW at f/22 on a tripod. I get that's all they are capable of. I get that all they can do is post-production and have no photography skills to speak of. I get that.

Just don't expect me to like the pedantic detritus they put out.

Oh gosh, I want to print and frame this.

Ask yourself a simple question:

Is WDW the best it's ever been?

Your answer to this question determines whether you are a "WDW is" or a "WDW was" person. :D

All the discussion about Universal is just a sideshow to The Main Event.

This is, after all, a WDW fansite. ;)

Yes. And there's a lot of us who know what Disney is capable of and expect better. I'm not interested in financial excuses from beancounters. I'm interested in growing the parks for the next generation of fans and an eventual fifth gate.

What no one is saying here is that disney doesn't need Harry potter at all. Wdw alone had nearly 19mil visit the one park alone. And the rest were all top 5 in attendance. Universal with potter went up 40 percent and the combined total was 15 mil. (8 mil at ioa). Take 40 percent away and universal was a ghost town compaired to disney, and they didn't have to add one attraction. They consistently avg 17mil, without spending a dime at times. So say what you want disney will always be a better draw, and Harry potter will fade fast.

Your unique take on the situation has been said several times in this very thread.

We're actually expecting AA's?

At this point, since it seems at least the Soarin' 2.0 will be in 3-D (I am sure Cameron insists on this, given his obsession), I'm fully expecting "blank" looking things with projections on them.

After what they did to the dwarves, I have no doubt that those pesky actual real animatronics are going to become a thing of the past.

There was an article of cameroon discusing the avatar land name change and his animatronic tech.

They were talking about movements axis and how detailed the Navi ones will be.
Thats what Cameron said. We are going to get AAs with 64 axles of motion, something about being the most advanced AAs in the world. But who knows.
64? I tough he said 8 when the usual are just 2 or 4?

64 axis? That should work right for about 6.5 days. At WDW, 62 will break with only the 3rd metacarpal and groin actuators still operational.
DISCO NAVI TIME!!!
BRING ON THE STROBES!

Its all about composition and light. Gear has nothing to do with it.

As a friend/mentor says, start photographing adjectives instead of nouns.

if Potter was the biggest "mistake" in 20 years, what happened 20 years ago that was an even bigger mistake? Lion King?

The Mask? Vampire Chronicles?

There arent many good movies in that year other than Forrest Gump and Lion King.

Eh...Basically they already are...
Mears runs shuttles from Disney resorts to Universal.
How do you call them anyway? are they specific? you have to order them, they run in intervals?
