Disney plans themed hotels for major U.S. cities

But getting back to topic, I would think Disney would learn from past experiences. It's like me closing my eyes and pointing at a spot on the map. I landed on a Buchanan County, VA. Now that would be something Disney could try.

what if disney adds a DVC / Resort hotel and then adds a smal DTD like shopping district with maybe a ESPN zone... it might work if they pick the right place.

I think putting something in towns instead of cities might (that is a little might) work. Cities have big gains ASAP, but can have failures just as fast. Towns on the other hand will show gains in the long run or will show you failure very quickly so in that why they can rethink their plans and maybe change the situation.

That would be a perfect partnership (NASCAR and Disney). Disney already has some sponsorship from GM (Test Track). I wouldn't be surprised if the Disney Racetrack would tie in with NASCAR someday.
I kinda doubt that there would ever be a NASCAR race at the Disney Speedway. There just isn't any room for many spectators. If there ever was a race there, it would be one of the low-end series.

I remember years ago thinking and wanting disney to do something like this. Like to almost have a downtown disney or hotel in my own city that I could hang out at. But now in the long run when I think about it, it doesnt really seem like it would be that good of an idea. The hotels maybe, but DD, I dont know. It just seems like the atmosphere will kinda be jaded because its in our own individual cities and not DL or WDW. That escapism feeling would almost be gone. Even though some may say they dont go to DD for escapism or anything close to it, it still IMO would seem to take away. I dont know about it right now, Ill probably have a better feeling/response to this when I can clear my head of all this stress and stuff. Ill holla again later.

So an Adventurers club could be on the horizon in places around the US? I'm so totally hoping for Disney to choose something in Atlantic City, NJ, but I guess I could settle for Philly or NYC (both are about an hour from me). Very exciting news!!!

Does anyone think this would take away from the "magic" of traveling to Disneyland or Disney World? If we could just drive an hour or so to get to a Disney themed area, we all would do it, yes. But would we then lose the novelty of going to Disney World?

Actually I doubt a NNC and a BGN race. I could see a CTS, DWS, or a ARCA race being held there tho.

Yes, I think it would. I don't live far from WDW (Williamsburg) but I can't go there everyday because of money. These hotel/experience the magic things (if it is those type of places) would hurt the experience because it would be a lot less expensive and people would be able to go everyday. If it is just hotel than I see nobody will want to spend everyday in it. Just a regular Disney themed hotel and nothing else would work in my opinion.

I loved the Pavillion, I'm going to miss it. Good thing I went last year (final year). Hope the Hard Rock Park is great.

I am not entirely sure about this idea, like previously mentioned I believe the past tends to repeat itself, but at the same instant the future isn't set in stone. However over-saturization of a product in any given market is never a good thing.

I think everybody is saying that and hopefully Disney will see that. It just needs to be a plain (Disney themed) hotel and nothing more. History repeats itself and I tend to believe the future is already written.

What about the Vero Beach and Hilton Head resorts that they already have? Maybe this will mean more DVC spots. These 2 resorts are themed, and they must be very successful ,I'm guessing, and so they are thinking of doing more. I have been to the Hilton Head one. It is VERY nice, very clean, and well run, like any Disney resort.

well i am thinking maybe they would have hotels that more like the all the theme indoor waterpark that are going up around the country. the two that come to mine is great wolf lodge and the new ones is coco keywest. i am thinking that disney is thinking along these lines. they have seen how successful these hotel/waterpark that are theme with a hotel.
