what else could they refurb?
They need to install something to zap the people who fail to "move all the way down to the end" and they and their party still just stop dead center, and plop themself down.. like they are not inconviencing anyone, and all that matters is them. Grrr Sorry.. that irritates me.
Me too. I wouldn't mind preferred seating (center 1/3 of the theater) for resort guests and AP holders. They would just need a seperate queue line. Actually such a system would be nice at all theater style attractions. Afterall, it almost always works that way everywhere else.
Where else is that done? I have been to alot of theme parks and never seen such a system in place. This would also confuse guests as to why there are varying wait times for the show and anger the guests being denied a good seat for the show.
I could see that getting very, very ugly. I was in a group that provided special services for my University, particularly alumni events. Every year, the alumni office would buy out the stage-left-most section of the school's "Holiday Spectacular" and offer reserved seating to the alumni that were attending a special Christmas event. Part of my group's responsibilites was making sure that the reserved seating remained as such. All of the other seating was non-reserved, just like Disney theater shows.Almost all stage shows and concerts have a seating plan that charges different prices for seating locations. I think it would be good if Disney provided for resort guests and premium AP holders with seats that are better. They would just have to seat those areas first and then let in your "general admiission" patrons. It would only require a bit of reconfiguration of the queues and seating. I'd love it though.

Let's just say that it was not pretty. Even though the alumni were allowed to take their seats before general seating began, there were lots of very unhappy people. There would just be far too many logistical and service-related problems for this to be implimented at WDW.
Anyway, nearly every seat in a Disney theater has a really good view, save for perhaps Fantasmic and Lights, Motors, Action. (maybe it's a Studios thing)
