Bottom line, "consumer" sounds cold coming from the CEO of a company that previously tried to make the patrons of the company feel special and appreciated.

We are also "consumers" of toilet paper. Feel special now?

I know, "Disney is a business" yada yada yada.

yeah, but if he's saying guests he's referring to parks and should have used cast members instead of employees

;):p

He actually did that, even explaining to the interviewer they call their park employees 'cast members.' He called the guests 'guests' and the cast members 'cast members.'

So...

i referenced a sentence in the article you actually linked to:
Technology is an enabler to run our businesses more securely, whether that’s protecting our intellectual property or protecting our guests or employees around the world.

suppose you could toss another link with that part of their discussion, but don't for my sake, as i was really just making light of this whole go nowhere semantical debate, not intending to perpetuate it - apologies that was unclear

Generally, when you have organizational problems, you "recentralize" and they say it makes the organization "more efficient".
This is text book supervision and management (Michigan State University)
They did it at ENRON and Toys'R'Us.
Does it work? Sometimes yes, sometimes no with a whole lot of "Didn't really see any improvements, just changes for change sake".
This is usually followed by one of those stupid mission statements that tells you the obvious.
Please no mission statements: save my time and your ink.

Just ask Mike Scott at Dunder-Mifflin.
