Disney park in VA?

One major problem for Disney in Virginia is the weather! You can only run a theme park from April til October and even then several of those months have very shaky weather! The other theme parks mentioned in the thread all shut down Nov thru March. That is a big investment sitting still!

Not that I wouldn't love to have Disney so close since I live in Maryland!

Weatherwise I would not mind going to a Disney park when it is snowing, I always wanted to go to a theme park in the snow:D

I agree. They should put one here in Texas! Its in the middle of the US and hey it has the same weather as Florida. :D

But if they make the Disney America park they got to put it in Virginia, it is the most historical state, everything happened in Va back then. Think about it

Texas... and Animal Kingdom thoughts

I think it could be cool for Disney to do something in Texas that would use a Western theme, like the old West and maybe prairie stuff (like out of Old Yeller, with idyllic picnic areas made to look like a ranch). You could have horseback riding, and "state-fair"-type rides (only done well, and maybe old-fashioned). Maybe a "Downtown Disney" type place with a Wildhorse Saloon!!

And then, of course, some modern stuff.

Who knows, many ideas could work there....

As for the prairie animals and stuff mentioned above, I always thought Animal Kingdom would have been better if it included some horses and other American-prairie-type sections anyway. Not all animals are exotic and live in Africa or Asia! A farm (pigs, cows, horses) or western (i.e., buffalo and rattlesnakes) animal section would be cool in Animal Kingdom.

Sorry for the drift. Just seemed to fit.

If you want a Disney park with snow, then Virginia is not the place. In this part of the country we only get a little bit of snow, but usually lots of freezing rain. Snow in Florida was much nicer, at MGM and MK during the VMCP

With the way the economy is going and how Disney has been tightening their pocket books, I would highly doubt you would see another park for 5-10 years.
