Disney Park execs at WDW this week

I hope you're right. I think you are. Disney knows what they have to do. most of the news stories I read are positive but then again spirits posts are extremely negative and he has good sources, but I hope he is wrong.

I would be more worried if he was never wrong but he has been at times.

They are spending tons to handle crowds at the MK. Pandora is happening as we speak. As is Disney Springs. Major airport expansion contracts were signed yesterday or today. All-Aboard Florida seems to be on track. ;)

So my glass is half-full. :cat:

That would be interesting to see all of the head honchos on the monorail!!!! Marie

I think it would be *interesting*.

But the saddest part of all this, is that why is it so surprising that Disney execs are in town? They run the place. They should be there. They should be riding the monorails. They should be in the parks seeing what their customers see and experiencing what their customers experience.

Maybe it would do them (and us) some good.

One of the problems is that they are all highly egotistical and think that they are famous. Thinking that, they are fearful of being recognized and mobbed. Personally, anyone below the fame of Bob Iger, would be someone that could walk up and bite me on the arm and I still wouldn't know who they were. If they just put on some shorts and a wife beater t-shirt they could spend all day in the parks, checking up on everything and no one would know it. I don't think that they try very hard to find out things that they don't want to know.

Nice to see them out and about. You cant run a park from inside an office. I was pretty impressed a number of years ago when I stopped in to get some show times at the Studios and a gentleman came over to assist. He pulled a typed listing (Not printed so it wasn't a times guide of any sort)and read me off the information I was looking for. I looked at his name tag which said "Dan" and I realized why he looked familiar, it was Dan Cockrell! It was pretty cool!! Marie

Thread drift: I wouldn't mind running into him! ;) He can check his times guide for me any ole time...!!!

Okay, back to the topic at hand.

I know when they toured Wandering Oaken's area in SS1 Meg was observing the Snow Box where kids could build a snowman. But because she is a short lady she could barely see over the wall they have surrounding the snow area. Was told that led to discussion of adding a step up type bench around the outside of the wall so shorter people could observe the snow pit (i.e. kids or shorter parents who wanted to take pics)
The parks are a flaming sack of dog dootie and this is Meg's contribution.

There is no hope.

And some may not like Staggs but at least he puts on an effort (fake or not) and actually seems to like the parks. If it's truly between him and Rasulo for Iger's replacement, I'd go hands down with Staggs, but I'm also aware he's still not an ideal choice.

Slightly off topic but relevant....does anyone see George Kalogridis in the parks at all since he took over? It seemed that he was lavished with excitement at his return to WDW, and high expectations and hopes, but I really haven't seen much as of yet. Just curious as to whether or not he puts in face time in the parks.

He popped up the weekend Frozen debuted at DHS I believe. Other than that, it seems to be pretty rare he's seen as far as I can tell.

Seriously. I can't even imagine what their response would be if a transportation manager that actually cared about the state of the monorails and actually wanted to try and get some additional budget to get them taken care of tried to get them to step foot in a car, even with no other guests on the train. Of course, at this point I might be just as scared of them stepping on the monorail, seeing their current state beyond what's shown in Excel, and deciding to just axe them and be done with it as they are of the thought of leaving that comfortable executive transport bubble.
