Latest update. After speaking to guest relations again and them refusing to give me any email address for anyone higher up in the company (understandable I suppose) and telling me I couldn't escalate my complaint, I decided to take matters into my own hands.
Last night I searched for an email address for the Chief Executive George Kalogridis and found one. I sent him a polite email detailing everything that had happened and how disappointed I felt. My phone just rang about an hour ago and a lady representing his office spoke to me telling me they'd be delighted to allow me to pick up a magic band from any guest services at Disney and asked whether I wanted a normal one, or a customized one!
I'm delighted they've done the right thing (in my mind), just a shame I had to invest so much time fighting for it.
