Your right to privacy is protected... however your right to go to a Disney Theme Park is non-existent.
From my understanding DL is requiring proof of vaccination so why couldn’t it work for WDW? 🤔
So none of you will have a problem when they start asking for other medical proof like when it comes to the Guest Assistance Pass? How can HIPPA protect one and not the other?

Covid is a threat to everyone's health/life.
Someone's personal issues that requires a guest assistance pass is not.

Personally, I don't see the issue with vaccine requirements/passports/whatever they call it.

HIPPA has nothing to do with this. Hospitals or medical providers aren’t releasing your information, you are.

Vaccination status has been required for all kinds of things, be it travel or schooling.

DAS is governed by the ADA which has its own set of rules.

HIPAA is the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act and doesn't have anything to do with what you said. The ADA does contain certain prohibitions concerning questions about disabilities.

Unfortunately Florida law will not currently allow Disney to ask if you have been vaccinated or allow any business to impose any restrictions based on that status. Ask the cruise industry about the mess that is causing for their restart.

Since they can't ask, I expect Disney to continue with their very conservative approach until they feel the guidance allows them to open things up for everyone regardless of vaccination status.

Indeed, I dont think they have any choice. They are likely to have the option to go maskless outdoors when Orange County move to that, but beyond that, I think their hands are tied.

I don't think you understand what HIPAA is for. It prevents Disney from calling your doctor requesting medical information, unless you give them the ok. They are within their rights to ask you, which you may or may not disclose. At which point they may or may not provide some type of service.

Disney's policy to not ask about medical reliance for the assistance pass has nothing to do with HIPAA but rather ADA protections.

I don't disagree, but Florida (not WDW) has said no to requiring vaccine info for entry anywhere in the state.

For entry, but what about for the act of mask usage?

Go to Guest Services, show your Vaccination card, you get a special pinback button. All guests must wear a mask and/or that button at all times. If you have neither, you'll be asked to leave.

Will someone fake the buttons? Probably. Will they consider it worth the effort? Probably not?

They don’t actually HAVE too. Will they? 🤷‍♂️
Disney will have to take whatever steps are necessary to operate under current government emergency orders covering businesses. Once those are gone, Disney will be making its own decisions. It may follow CDC guidance, but without an underlying order mandating that, why would they have to assume anyone's vaccination status? Just put up a sign saying they strongly encourage the unvaccinated to follow CDC guidelines recommending they wear masks.

They are unmasking at the White House right now, staffers, media and all of the others there. This is a change in stance from the top -- forget the idea of vaccine passports, this is going to happen very very fast.
