You know what's funny?
That doesn’t impact your immune system. It can make antibiotic-resistant bacterial, however. But that has nothing to do with COVID-19. There are no Clorox-resistant viruses. Keep using those wipes!
I never said it did. Someone else did. Geez why is everyone always so combative about everything.

My recent conversation with the corporate office says otherwise. I left feedback today online asking about the policy and what the criteria are for adding/removing mitigation measures; I received a call 3 hours later (something extremely out of the ordinary) and she told a very different picture: guests are cancelling due to masks, especially right now. They are calling people "all day about masks," thanking them for their "patience and still choosing the Walt Disney World resort despite unideal circumstances with masks." She said she literally just got off with a family who cancelled and is going to Niagara falls instead because of the masks.

FWIW, I don't know how much this CM knew about the policy, but she did say that we are "very close to being where most people want them to be."

While I will not visit Walt Disney World in times of high community transmission (regardless of mask policy), I will also not visit in times of low or no community transmission when masks are required. We are approaching that territory right now; if not already reached it.

And unlike some here who refuse to believe masks work, I do believe they work but only in place with other mitigation techniques; which is why I won't visit until cases are low and I can enjoy the parks as I normally would
Wait…guest comm???

ok…I don’t know if you noticed…but they are having an attendance issue…and when that happens…everything on earth is to blame.

remember also they are not required to tell you the Truth…at all…and it would be silly from a PR Angle in many ways if they actually did?

what “corporate” are we talking to…If I might ask?

Albeit any insights may be anecdotal, but I wonder if our resident Las Vegas casino dealer, @Vegas Disney Fan has any info on how mask rules have impacted the Vegas visitor rates.
I don't think masks are a major factor here, you don’t need one if you are drinking (and drinks are free) so it’s very easy not to wear one here if you don’t want to. Just keep a soda or cocktail in your hand and you can go 99% of the trip without wearing one. (Which ultimately makes them theater more than useful).

The lack of conventions and business travel due to Covid is having disastrous affects though, visitation is up but we really need Covid gone for corporate things to get back to normal.

Edited to add… we just got back from WDW this afternoon and had an amazing time, POFQ was amazing, the crowds were low, the weather was beautiful…. absolutely Fantastic trip! That said we probably won’t be back until masks are gone (or the Disney bug hits us hard again), they weren’t a big deal but it was a bit of a pain.

Peoplemover goes into a closed environment. Jungle cruise doesn’t. That’s the difference. Whether I agree with it or not is another story.

Yeah The Temple is a closed environment, for a substantial duration and the boat is a mixed group of parties under an enclosed canopy of the boat. I get why you disagree with it, but there really is no notable difference that I can see between People mover or Jungle Cruise with any sort of policy explained. Just for the record, I would rather there be masks on both for consistency, as that is I feel there are differences in this case not warranted.

I was just at Epcot on 11/2 and AK on 11/3. I wish at a minimum they would drop the requirement for things that are 90% outdoors. On EE, my wife and I both had a much more severe motion sickness feeling due to wearing a mask preventing the rushing air sensation. Before somebody says that it is mental, there's a reason there is rushing air on Mission: Space (which we didn't ride).

It is so stupid to have to wear a mask when the interior portion is in a giant room AND you are moving at over 30 MPH for most of it. Seriously, you could populate every other row with unmasked COVID positive people and the rest with unmasked unvaccinated people and the chance of transmission in that environment is going to be near zero.

On TT, it really takes away from the excitement on the outdoor part. My mask blew down 1/3 of the way through and it was just too difficult to get it back up until we slowed for going back inside and it was so much better during that time.

Now that people can vaccinate their children 5 and older, can we please stop with this nonsense? If you don't feel safe without masks or being around people without masks then don't go to WDW (or any other crowded place).

If that's going to be the justification then it's going to be at least another couple months to allow enough people the opportunity to actually get their kids fully vaccinated since the 5-11 age just became eligible. A kid getting the first shot today still needs 5 weeks (3 for the 2nd dose and 2 for maximum immunity) and obviously not every kid can get an appointment on Day 1.
