We had been told for years not to overuse antibacterial and antiviral soap because over time it lessons the effectiveness. Or it can. I haven’t looked at the details for a while now.
I've used Dial anti bacterial from teen years to present day daily . I plan to use it for the rest of my life and never had an issue. I still recall the theme park powder soap pre 9/11 that cleaned your hands thoroughly and also what seemed to take a layer of skin off also.

Truthfully, I too use dial antibacterial and have for years. But with that being said, the FDA has been raising the alarm about antibacterial soap for years as well.
They have, yes, but not because it weakens your immune system. It is because eventually too much use of it may lead to bacteria adapting and becoming resistant to it. It's the same reason why they have had a concerted campaign to convince people not to use antibiotics unless they really need them. It's a legitimate concern, but it has nothing to do with weakening one's immune system.

Right - per some people I know in research agree that it isn't the hand washing, it's the use of antibacterial and antimicrobial soaps. We use none of those at home.

You know, the only thing I was worried about is that if it was Covid, we'd pass it to our cat. 😂
I laugh but seriously at the beginning of the pandemic one of my cats was tested for covid - well at least the coronavirus family no joke. Poor kitty had a vaccine reaction (very rare, but given he has neuro issues from birth fevers can be scary) and we tested to rule everything out other things so we didn'tgive meds that would make him worse. My understanding it is still rare to pass but should quarantine yourself from pets if you do get it.

That doesn’t impact your immune system. It can make antibiotic-resistant bacterial, however. But that has nothing to do with COVID-19. There are no Clorox-resistant viruses. Keep using those wipes!

My recent conversation with the corporate office says otherwise. I left feedback today online asking about the policy and what the criteria are for adding/removing mitigation measures; I received a call 3 hours later (something extremely out of the ordinary) and she told a very different picture: guests are cancelling due to masks, especially right now. They are calling people "all day about masks," thanking them for their "patience and still choosing the Walt Disney World resort despite unideal circumstances with masks." She said she literally just got off with a family who cancelled and is going to Niagara falls instead because of the masks.

FWIW, I don't know how much this CM knew about the policy, but she did say that we are "very close to being where most people want them to be."

While I will not visit Walt Disney World in times of high community transmission (regardless of mask policy), I will also not visit in times of low or no community transmission when masks are required. We are approaching that territory right now; if not already reached it.

And unlike some here who refuse to believe masks work, I do believe they work but only in place with other mitigation techniques; which is why I won't visit until cases are low and I can enjoy the parks as I normally would

good info…thanks!

No
Negative!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

But what the heck did we catch...this is the sickest I've been in years!

I caught what's being called a 'super cold' over here in the UK last month, and that was the sickest I've been in a long time too! All over aching, temperature constantly up and down and sinuses acting up. That then turned into severe tonsillitis! A super fun 3-4 weeks it was not...

I'm sorry, but if there is one creature that legitimately deserves to get Covid, it's a cat. 😂
