That they thought it was a good idea to begin with. It is rude beyond words to risk other's flights because one doesn’t mask at all. Putting FAs in a crappy position is not something I'd brag about.

Like the stupid vlogger on the monorail whining about masks and ripping it off in front of a CM who just had told us all to keep masks on. It is rude as all get out and putting workers in a crappy position.
Oh, that's different. You made it seem like that would ruin your trip. I see what you were saying now.

Then what are they going by I wonder? Been trying to figure that out for a LONG time.
That's the magic eight ball answer... nobody knows nor will they ever tell us what it is. I do see cases up a tiny bit in OC, FL but not enough to worry at all. It is harder to know when your reporting is so sporadic. But honestly Disney dropped on the downside of a peak and long before CDC would recommend. Waaay higher than November's numbers when we masked indoors. They are done.

Which vlogger was that? They deserve to be banned from Disney property for that. Openly defying a CM's instructions and posting in in a video for others to see just makes the CMs' jobs harder for however long the transportation mandate remains in effect. If that vlogger wants to be a real heroic freedom fighter, maybe he could board a flight to Poland and walk across the eastern border (assuming they don't get kicked off the flight in their endless pursuit of freedom, of course).

To clarify the previous post, I was saying if my flights got delayed because people are not following rules I'd be mad as all get out. Not that my trip was ruined ;) I'm not that dramatic, but my anger would be there. I am tired of people acting like they're above rules. Just put the darn mask on and make nice with people. Don't try to put workers in a bad spot because you think you don’t need to follow rules. No different than line cutters really or other actions that are viewed as against rules.

I would have to ask my son if he knew. He took it off after the CM had said masks on (his was hanging more as a chin strap at that point) and started to walk off. It wasn't openly in their face... I worded that poorly I see and will edit to clarify. ETA to me this was totally different than those who didn't wear and were never told to which I also saw. I'm not a total maskhole on the other extreme. Just a situation I noticed.

No legal consequences? I'm not sure what gave you that idea. There are definitely legal consequences. Whether the individual refusing to follow the rule cares about those consequences probably varies from person to person, but it's false to say that there are no consequences.

I can not find a legal document which gives them the authority to fine somebody. If somebody else can find it then I'd appreciate a link. It wasn't easy to find the actual "Security Directive" that I posted earlier.

Ah, I see. Either way, knowing that masks are required and removing it after a CM gives a verbal reminder to wear it is disrespectful. To then post it online just makes viewers think it's okay to ignore the rule and puts other CMs in a bad position if they try to enforce the rule with another guest - and it's especially stupid if it's a Disney-centric vlogger since we've seen other vloggers banned from the parks for violating rules (like Adam the Woo for filming backstage areas).

  • As part of the FAA's Reauthorization Bill (PDF) FAA can propose up to $37,000 per violation for unruly passenger cases. Previously, the maximum civil penalty per violation was $25,000. One incident can result in multiple violations.

In this case, refusing to wear a mask would fall under the "interfering with the duties of a crewmember" portion of the unruly passenger definition.

Yes, got it.

I was illustrating a totally different point. They had masks, and would have complied if asked. My point was, it's becoming more and more common for this to just slide. Fewer and fewer people want to deal with it.

Ehhh, let me know when this actually happens. There have been THOUSANDS of these instances in the past year+, can you find one example of this fine being levied?

It's really not hard to find with a simple Google search.

  • $7,500 against a passenger on a Feb. 3, 2021, Southwest Airlines flight from Fort Myers, Fla., to Denver, Colo. The FAA alleges the passenger repeatedly refused to comply with flight attendants’ instructions to wear her facemask.

  • $9,000 against a passenger on a Feb. 14, 2021 Allegiant Air flight from Grand Island, Neb., to Las Vegas, Nev., for allegedly interfering with flight crewmembers after failing to comply with the facemask mandate. She used profane language when speaking to flight attendants and was met by law enforcement upon landing.
  • $9,000 against a passenger on a Feb. 20, 2021, Delta Air Lines flight from Salt Lake City, Utah, to Long Beach, Calif., for his alleged refusal to comply with the crew instructions to wear a facemask.
  • $9,000 against a passenger on a Feb. 5, 2021, Allegiant Air flight from Swanton, Ohio, to Clearwater, Fla., for interfering with flight crewmembers after refusing to wear his facemask and yelling at other passengers during a maintenance diversion in Kentucky. Airport police removed him from the aircraft in Kentucky.
  • $9,000 against a passenger on a Feb. 21, 2021, United Airlines flight from San Francisco, Calif., to Houston, Texas, for her alleged failure to comply with the facemask mandate.
  • $9,000 against a passenger on a Jan. 29, 2021, United Airlines flight from Denver, Colo., to Flagstaff, Ariz., for allegedly interfering with flight crewmembers after refusing to comply with the facemask mandate. Law enforcement met him at the gate.
  • $9,000 against a passenger on a March 26, 2021, Endeavor Airlines flight from Atlanta, Ga., to Gainesville, Fla., for allegedly interfering with crewmembers after failing to comply with the mask mandate. Ground personnel escorted him off the flight after returning to the gate.
  • $8,000 against a passenger on a March 25, 2021, American Airlines flight from Knoxville, Tenn., to Chicago, Ill., for her alleged interference with flight crewmembers after refusal to comply with the facemask mandate.

Yeah, I'm fairly sure the CM could still see and they were right there. I was just facing opposite the vlogger to have the view I did of the CM. It still felt super rude and really putting CMs in bad spots. Especially since it was likely the vlogger who had them say it as they were the only one not wearing over the mouth. They held it in their hand until the doors closed too which felt like they would have if pressed a second time. I was in another monorail and a small family went on it without. The CM there reminded them to put them on and walked away. One adult got their masks out even when the CM walked away and was totally gone. I thought that was respectful but really didn’t expect it tbh. Not that they seemed like jerks or anything just based on past experiences.

My son noticed the vlogger and how he was intentionally talking loud about their site. Bragged about his set up (I caught that even) and my son noted that the vlogger seemed to want to give advice to a solo traveler who didn't even ask for it. My son mentioned the name of the vlogger asking if I heard of them and I honestly forgot lol.

Before people think I was being a maskhole myself and picking out people, I just took specific mental notes on the last trip that I could report on. I really don't care what people do as long as it doesn’t cause an issue as a whole.

Asking because I don't know. Was this poster joking or are they in the know?
If you read through this thread there are a ton of false rumors. Again small uptick in weekly reported cases that are far less than when Disney dropped isn't something to be worried about. My guess is Disney is done period.

We were there at the same time as you, and noticed this behavior as well. We got on at the Poly, and at the GF a family of 4 got on without one wearing or even carrying a mask. We always follow the rules, even if we don't always agree with them. We immediately exited that car, let a CM know, and sat in a different car. I know the CM mentioned to them to put them on, but I doubt they complied.

You don't have to answer if you don't want to. But why did you do this? Genuinely curious.
