I really hope people keep washing their hands after this is over. I have sat in a stall next to a guy I respected... he got up and walked out... no sink noise.... it changes things.
I don't mind if they ease off of it a little at schools...my younger son's hands have been chapped to the point of cracking and bleeding off and on since last March. It's a combination of using so much sanitizer and washing his hands so often. We have to put vaseline on them at night and he sleeps with socks on his hands. Poor kid...they hurt sometimes.

Do the schools make him wash and put sanitizer on that frequently? How old? They definitely need to ease up, my gosh. Poor thing.

It is very infrequently that I wash my hands after "hovering" over a public toilet- especially those without automatic sink turn-ons. Skeeves me out to touch the sink buttons or push soap dispensers. I now immediately Purell my hands upon leaving the stall, then use a paper towel to open the door.( touching door handle/ kinda negates washing of the hands.) So you probably wouldn't hear sink noise with me either!

He's 10 and has autism, so when they amped up hand washing and sanitizing, he latched onto it. If he even scratches his nose, he feels a need to wash his hands or sanitize, and he's likely got the cleanest hands of any boy on the planet when it comes to washing after using the bathroom.

I did just order him some Avon Silicone Glove lotion, so that should help (I can't believe I didn't think of it sooner.)

On my travels this week to move my daughter home from college for summer break I noticed less and less mask wearing. In stores, restaurants, hotels and even in the airports. I flew one way and drove home so I covered a few states. I would say that in most places with the exception of the airport there were more maskless faces than not. I am not going to lie it was nice to smile after smile again!!!

It’s gotten to where I’m surprised to see a mask outside.

I was referring to inside but simply because I live in a somewhat rural area where there was little to no mask wearing outside from the beginning so I really wouldn't have noticed . One of the hotels even had a no mask requirements. They said they dropped it when the state dropped theirs. There was encounter while I was in the lobby with a very angry man and woman who were upset that they weren't demanding that people wear mask. Long story short the wife can't get the vaccine for some reason so they really expect mask be mandatory until coivd is eradicated. It was the one discussion I am not embarrassed to have been eavesdropping on because it was darn entertaining,

Our ignorant Governor here in Indiana lifted the mandate completely on April 6th instead of gradually and people in this state straight lost their minds. Far too often I see morons going into stores still requiring masks and flipping out on the workers when something is said to them. One guy walked into the gas station down the road from my house without a mask and the cashier said something about it and he knocked over a ton of stuff and broke a few things on the way out the door spewing profanities and calling all of us "a bunch of "******* Liberal *******". People have NO sense whatsoever.

You do realize that any germs you get from dispensing the soap is going to washed away by that soap, right? Sanitizer alone is not going to kill germs like e coli that you get in a restroom. They did a study several years ago at hospitals that compared those whos staff washed their hands between patients as a opposed to just using sanitizer and the hospitals that just used sanitizers had a much higher percentage of patient infections. We have always been big hand washers and are an extremely healthy family. None of us have had the flu or strep, or any other serious illnesses. I believe that our diligence to cleanliness makes a huge difference.
