Have you heard of many reinfections among people who survived? Not really, unless that starts happening, it might not.
No but we haven’t heard of many infections among those who got the shot either and here we are masking again because of an apparent uh “adult party” in the northeast 🤷🏼‍♂️

Only in high new case areas and only because we have found if you get symptoms you are just as infectious. You are far less likely to develop symptoms (90% reduction) but it’s not zero and when Covid is overfilling local hospitals, some extra precautions seem prudent. Let the wave pass and you’ll be able take them off indoors again.

So (and I’m quoting Bill Maher) “we are back to wearing masks from the front of the restaurant until the waiter brings the breadsticks…it’s called science people”.

Look I know it’s bad. I have even lost friends from it. I am vaccinated as I wish everyone would be as well, but regardless of what side of the fence you’re on with this, why do we believe every click bait headline and not question more of this? Don’t be so quick to overlook that half of the information we get has been delivered very poorly and the decisions that have made hasn’t all made complete sense.

Are they increasing risk? Maybe they are vaccinated and not carrying covid and the mask is not needed for those people 🤔🤷🏼‍♂️

The mask is required.

Debate over how necessary they are isn't the main issue here.

These people need to grow up and follow the rules.

Wear a mask or stay home. Act like an adult. Something too many people are incapable of doing.

Again it comes down to if you trust the CDC, and I tend to, especially when they show the evidence. Vaccinated people, while rare, can get Covid and pass it to others. When the thing is ripping through a population, I’ll take some added precaution to prevent me getting it. I don’t need to stress test my vaccine that much. The wave will pass.

I trust the CDC about as much as I trust the news media honestly and their communication methods have been extremely poor. This latest decision with the masks for vaccinated people was based on covid spread at an after hours very adult party

No it was due to a study showing the viral load in an infected symptomatic vaccinated person is the same as a non vaccinated symptomatic infected person.

“just follow the rules WE make for you and your family”

We need to be careful here
Your continued relentless questioning and sowing doubt represents the cultural cause of our current state. We get it, you don’t believe and want to beat doubt into our heads. Please god STOP. My community is current being battered by this virus and people like you are a good part of the cause.

I am vaccinated. My 12 year old daughter is as well. We got it as soon as we could and I wish others would too…I just don’t drink the kool-aid and believe everything the media tells us as fast as some

I’m in the south. My community is hit hard right now as well and I actually lost someone I knew this morning to covid (taken off life support after more than 2 months in the hospital). I know it’s bad.

I do my part and follow the rules, all I’m saying is I just don’t always believe everything I read or what someone tells me and I’m surprised how fast some follow others sometimes without real knowledge

Yeah, wouldn't want to follow the rules of a theme park (private business) that are there for our safety. Not to mention that one could be escorted out and lose a whole bunch of money.

But by all means, fight the good fight and stand up to the tyrannical rules at Disney. Refuse to lower your safety bar. Find a way to remove your seat belt midway through Tower of Terror. Jump over fences and go swimming with the alligators. Stand up on Splash Mountain as you go down the drop. The bus is full? Hop on the back bumper and hang on. Have two small children? Stack them on top of each other in a trench coat to avoid those oppressive height requirements.

Keep fighting the good fight. Your precious "freedom" is at stake.

I wasn’t referring to Disney rules 🤦‍♂️

Since you feel the need to have the last word on everyone, I believe these will be the last words for me to see- it's time to expand my ignore list.

To go along with what I’ve been trying to say
409A23D2-7204-49D0-A292-3C25F0C7CC9C.jpeg

we have to understand many things are unfortunately being done or said for ratings, money, or political whatever moreso than public safety and improving the pandemic which is bad but also why I’ve been saying we shouldn’t always be so quick to believe every headline we see or news coverage we hear

Life is very short, and there's no time
For fussing and fighting, my friend
I have always thought that it's a crime
So, I will ask you once again
Try to see it my way
Only time will tell if I am right or I am wrong…..

Sorry when I’m at an impasse I resort to Beatles wisdom 😀

We are going next week and I have been trying to convince myself masks won’t be a big deal. I had to wear it at work again starting yesterday and was reminded how much I really do not like them at all. My kids (10,12) and wife do not mind them and still want to go, but I do not want to wear one, especially while on an expensive vacation. Anyone else struggling with the decision to keep or postpone their trip?

To me, wearing masks is a complete non issue. I'll wear them if required and won't wear them if they are not.

The decision point to me would be if Disney decides to get rid of fireworks or pre-shows. It's one thing to not have that stuff when the crowds were minuscule but with relatively full parks, they need that stuff (and honestly should have more show attractions up and running) to make it worthwhile to go.

That’s not true in the slightest. If you’re going to criticize the news media, honestly, I ask you to please not contribute to the spread of misinformation yourself. We’ve got the internal notes from the CDC, and as someone else pointed out, it was based on alarm at viral loads regardless of vaccination status.
