In the college program forum, the Disney CP cast are being segregated in their living arrangements in college housing. Vaccinated cast live together, unvaccinated cast live together in another area.

Well when enough unvaccinated get sick and they pass it around they will all have antibody's.. people who are unvaxed are the real guinea pigs here.

I'm actually shocked that we've had that many full vaccinated people die, and I'd like to see a graph of that to see if the numbers are much higher now than in the spring or not.

As of April 30th there were 160 deaths of fully vaccinated people, but there were also significantly less people vaccinated at that time, especially since these infection likely happened up to a month earlier.

Then go there and spend your money there and contribute to the health crisis in central FL.
My family is fully vaccinated.

I will 100% comply with any mandates set by the proprietors of businesses I choose to enter.

If you want to help with the health crisis in Florida get some Floridians vaccinated.

I have so far been able to talk many people in my sphere of influence into taking the shot.

Have a great night !

Just for an international perspective, I am currently in Thessaloniki, Greece on holiday and the rules in Greece have gone back to wearing a mask when you're indoors here as well. They're also being quite strict about how many people are being let into each room of museums, etc. I'm fully vaccinated and it's very hot, but it's not that hard in the scheme considering all the things people have had to do through history due to exceptional circumstances. I'm just grateful I can go on vacation considering the year we've had.

The country I live in, though, is the Netherlands where there are no masks anywhere except public transport. Considering the rates there, my taxes will be going toward paying for long covid care for a very long time!

Nope. They are going to follow the CDC guidelines even though the word "require" or "mandate" was not part of the CDC guidance. I wish Disney only strongly encouraged it for our trip next week as that would have been following the guidelines. Mandates and requirements were not part of the statements - the word was recommend. Somehow the word recommend = require/mandate in 2021.

we’ll be in this phase of indoor masks till spring Id bet. The CDC won’t reverse course any time soon. Way too much egg ok their face to change any time soon
That’s only if Orlando remains in the high or substantial spread tier, which it probably won’t although it’s likely going to be very close to October when it drops below that level.

From an alternate perspective:

Disney's mask requirement makes me feel much better about my upcoming trip. I was worried and was thinking that maybe it wasn't a good idea to go, but now with the masks back, it makes me feel much safer.

I wouldn't even think about going to Uni right now with their policies. "Strongly encouraging" in most people's minds will just be "I don't have to if I don't want to".

Universal says they will ENCOURAGE but not require anyone to wear a mask inside or outside if they are fully vaccinated and will not require anyone to show proof of being vaccinated. This is likely a strategy to gain the upper hand from those who are against masks anyways.

Encouraging only means we would appreciate but you don't need to. And all those who are against masks will likely go to Universal anyways.

If WDW (or UNI) was REALLY serious here, they’d require vaccinations. Masks make some difference, and wearing one inside is a good idea, but in the light of the vaccine’s availability it’s less than a half-measure. On the “vaccines exist” scale, Disney and Uni’s policies aren’t much different.

I agree but can they do that under new fl law?

That can sure try, and sooner or later they’ll have to. They’ll likely win in court, but it will be a long, pricey process - if the state government wants to fight Disney and Uni in the headlines for months during an outbreak. Or they can find ways around it, like the cruise lines.

I wouldn’t look at any photos from mass maskless people hovering at rope drop this morning
