I'm going to chime in with those saying a new DVC property. After working on cruise ships, Castaway Cay is very comparable to other industry private islands... Also from rumors on the cruiseline going around the crew are that Disney's new ship will showcase china and australlia, so we may not be seeing them much state side.

However, from a DVC member standpoint, a Bahama property, a private all inclusive disney beach vacation, would be HUGE!! If Disney could one up Sandals, they'd own the entire market for vacationing.

What do you think the price point would be? DCL is, on a lot of itineraries, much higher than other lines. Regular lines, not luxury.
So if Disney wants to make people feel like they should pay more for a Disney all inclusive than a Sandals one- $10k per week for 2?

I don't think they will hurt Sandals, but will be competition to Beaches.

I do think a Disney Caribbean resort will be coming someday, will be interesting to see what happens then.

That's a great question, price point for an all inclusive disney resort would be astronomical. The price per point now is shockingly high for places like Polynesian and Aulani.... i imagine a Bahamian property would be in the same line.

The all inclusive thing is more a dream of mine than a possible reality knowing how Disney functions... But a few days in the parks and few days on a private island, i could see a lot of people paying in.

I really do think the idea I tossed out about a resort and also cruise stop would be very popular, especially adding some DVC units.
I totally agree with you that it would more than likely not be an all inclusive destination. A week at Beaches is same if not more than a week in a lagoon or tpv room at Poly, including a purchased dining plan and tickets. So I don't know how much higher Disney could go and still have enough travelers.

I read a lot of people say that the quality of service and shows is better on DCL than other lines.. And have read quotes stating "you get what you pay for". So maybe that is the same mindset that Disney would hope to attract with a Caribbean resort. Hope that people haven't been to a Beaches, or they have but consider Disney's better- because it's Disney.

$7k for garden view room for a week. 2 people included...restaurants extra. Non motorized water sports included, motorized and tours- extra. That could go over well right?
