It looks like there might be a berm (or is it a retention pond?), in which case wilderness lodge should be spared.

It’s a pond. The numbers are the elevation of the contours. It starts at +99’ and goes down to +83’.

All Disney park fans have had attractions that have been closed. I keep hearing the words of Walt saying that the parks will never be finished, but constantly evolving. To me I take each change not in terms of what is canceled, but what does it bring to me the guest. When they closed Snow White ride in WDW and opened the Seven Dwarves mine train to me that was a net positive. Closing the 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea was fine by me. Now, I may be in the minority, but I miss the Mr Toad wild ride. Each to their own.

Mr Toad was always very cute and a lot of fun... Way cuter and more fun than the Winnie The Pooh ride that replaced it. 20,000 Leagues has no equal... It was an amazing attraction... It was absolutely gorgeous from outside... I remember as a kid just standing along the side watching the subs go by... looking into the deep clear water... There was nothing like it... I still mourn the loss of that one...and the 2 and a half attractions that replaced it, to me do not equal what that was. I am glad the Disneyland version survives...in another form... I am sure we will be feeling a lot of this then the ROA disappears...

Oh you mean after cars and villans is complete freeing up the laydown yards north of the grand flo?

Honestly, I mostly like Mr. Toad for the current DL facade rather than the ride itself, and the one in WDW was way worse in that respect. I think it was an impressive use of very little space, but aside from having a soft spot for The Wind in the Willows, I don't feel like something of incomparable value was lost.

This is part of why I continue to pitch Aquatopia as a replacement for the Speedway from my armchair. I feel like the area is big enough that you could double the capacity from what's available in Tokyo and still have some transitional space between Fantasyland and Tomorrowland where you could place the Nautilus in the water, very near where it used to be.

It really depends on whether there is a cash component to Lakeshore Lodge or not. If there isn’t, this is an absolutely massive DVC and sales likely won’t need them to build anything again until 2032/3.

If it’s also a hotel, I think we’ll see another tower at Riviera replacing Aruba. Maybe even with half hotel rooms depending on how attendance and occupancy trends with new projects like Tropical Americas coming online.

Either way I think the only way we see something by 2029 is because they want to get a Riviera second phase in the same association under the 10 year wire.

A tower there would significantly intrude on EPCOT.

The Swan and Dolphin already do, of course, but they're further away and really only an issue when looking at the World Showcase from the former Future World. A tower there would probably be in view from inside the France, UK, and Canada pavilions at the very least.

There's also not much room to add parking there.

Doesn't mean Disney wouldn't do it, but it would definitely cause problems at EPCOT, and it doesn't seem like the most feasible location.

I think there’s many reasons why this parcel isn’t really suitable.
