Thanks Tammy for enlightening us about the incident, while serious i agree they overreacted. Especially since the person wasn't even in the age group to begin with!

I sent DCL a message explaining my situation (13 year old boy with 15 and 17 year old brothers wanting to get into Vibe), and this is what I received:

(email response template greeting)

(email response template subject area - brief description)

Please check with the Counselors on board, to see if they can make an
exception.

(email response template subject area - long description)

(email response template closing)

He'll be nearly 13.5 at sailing and is mature for his age, so I like our chances.

That's interesting! That is not the response most people have gotten in the last week or two. The other responses have been along the lines of "we're very sorry but there are no exceptions."

I hope it works for you! Let us know!

Good news, someone just got off the Magic and their 13.5 year old was allowed in Vibe. They had to sign a release and agree that he wouldn't be able to change his mind and move down. :)

Yeah, when we went in September and Brian moved up we had to sign a release for him and he couldn't change his mind. I'm thinking that was before the incident so may e that was standard practice. I'm guessing a return to that is good news. Thanks for the info, Tammy.

I agree. It's a good sign that they are going to try to keep some flexibility. :)
