Disney in April when Easter is in March

So, we are really in full planning mode for our August trip but being the freak that I am, I am also looking ahead to potential dates for next year. Just wondering if anybody has any feedback they can share on a spring break trip next April. I know enough to avoid an Easter trip but in 2013 Easter will be at the end of March so we could consider taking our trip when our kids are out of school in mid April instead of a third August trip in a row. Any thoughts/feedback appreciated!

We are going this April. We expect it to be crowded with various collegiate spring breaks and high school senior trips going on, but it's Disney. I've never gone when it wasn't crowded during the Spring or Summer. My personal favorite time of year to go is end of October or the beginning of November. It sounds like you've gone a time or two (sarcasm), so you know what to expect. Just keep in mind why you want to go when you go. "Kids are out of school". Chances are A LOT of kids are out as well. See ya real soon!

We're going this year at the end of March... We'll be there 2 weeks before Easter this year, and I don't regret that choice. I expect it to be crowded, 'cause I know a lot of schools will be on Spring Break (the same reason we're going when we are), but it's Disney World- it's never not going to be at least somewhat crowded. ;)
I chose that time of year because my daughter will be out of school and the weather will be a lot nicer (cooler) than if we waited til school was out for summer.

We always go in April, and we already have our dates picked (but not booked) for April 2013. Of course, we are already booked for this April and leave exactly 3 months from today for our daughter's first trip!

April is always going to be busy no matter what, but just HOW busy depends on when Easter is. With Easter at the end of March next year, the busy Easter season will be over by April, but it's still Spring break time, so don't plan to be just walking onto very many rides.

The weeks leading up to Easter are priced as "Peak Season" as far as resort pricing goes, and after Easter, it generally drops down to "regular season"...never value season. So expect crowd levels to reflect that.

Thanks for your feedback. So far in our trip history we have avoided the heaviest crowds and that is all I am really hoping for April 2013. My favorite time is October too! It's just not as easy now that the kiddos are in school.

I hear you, I am looking ahead in hopes to avoid a third August trip. Although I was quite surprised that I didn't have a big problem with the weather on our trip this past August. The magic makes up for it. :)

Thanks! I was just brainstorming so hadn't even gone as far as checking the rate season that we would fall on. Regular season is fine with me! You are going to have the most magical trip this April, so close!!

March is great when Easter is in April, so I assume the opposite would be true. However, this really puts a damper on our next trip. March 2013, of course the week before Easter:brick:

I have always been told that Passover week is really busy. Not sure when that is, if before or after Easter. April is my favorite time to go, warm but not humid, and the flower and garden show is on at that time.

I love The Flower and Garden festival, the last time we were there for that my oldest was just 3 and thought it was the best thing ever. This is another reason that I am hoping it will be April for this family in 2013!

We went the last week of April 2008 and it was very crowded. Easter was the beginning of April that year. Since a lot of schools have an April Vacation there were tons of families with kids there. We had to fast pass everything and missed a lot but our daughters were also 2 1/2 and 4 so we were not moving as fast with strollers. We still had a fantastic time crowds and all! Enjoy. I wish I was in the planning stage of a trip but not until next year now! Enjoy both of your trips!!

I've been down to the World the past two Easter weekends ... I was expecting the parks to be much busier than what they were and only had to Fastpass the more popular rides like TSM and Soarin'. We didn't miss a single thing on our to-do lists and did more than what we expected.
