Disney Honeymoon Registry Experience?

Hi all!

We are in the midst of planning our wedding and our Disneymoon!

We are hoping you could help-if anyone has had their own or contributed to a Disney Honeymoon Registry, can you give us your feedback? How did you like using it? Was it worth it? Any tips?

Congrats!!! My sister is also planning her Wedding/Disneymoon for Oct 2013 and she has already started her registry on the website! It is so cool! I will give you more details as she goes, but I love how you can write descriptions of yourself and the bridal party and add so many cool things like meals, gifts, activities for people to put money towards to make your disneymoon magical!

Great thank you! Yes it looks great and we love how you add basically whatever you want for all to see and contribute to. Great idea by Disney!

Congrats to her-our weddings are close, ours is 9/28/13!!

My husband and I used the Disney Honeymoon Registry for our Disneymoon in September 2010. It was one of the best decisions we made throughout our wedding planning! Wedding guests were able to purchase products/experiences/etc. that we registered for and it was all put on a gift card (below). On the Disney registry site we were able to see who purchased what and read their signatures/well wishes. In reality we were able to use the card on whatever we wanted, which worked well for us because we are frequenters of Disney so we ended up spending a lot more in the World Showcase that we anticipated ;). My niece registered a few places including Disney. Many guests at the shower didn't get it. No surprise, she only received a few items from the Disney Registry. But for her wedding, as the choices had dwindled from the registries she received many Disney Gift Cards, dinners, dinner with an animators. I guess it depends on the guests and how open they are to Disney as a gift.

Congrats, hope you have fun planning and have a beautiful wedding.

Congratulations!

We used the registry about 4.5 years ago and it was fantastic! We didn't have any problems with our guests "getting it" as the service is done very well. Rather than them just giving a monetary value, they buy an experience / meal / thing which seems to sit better with people (I know a lot of people don't like to give money as a gift). As others have said, you actually end up with what is basically a big gift card so you can actually spend it as you want when you get there.

I can't remember exactly but I know that we did get a lot of stuff out of that card (Surfing lessons, A great painting from The Art of Disney, meals at Cali-Grill, Coral Reef, CRT, Hoop-dee-doo, Le Celier and others I can't remember). We used it to pay for a lot of stuff in the parks too (ice-creams etc) and half the time we ended up getting the things for free as a result of the CM seeing the special card.

Whilst we didn't use the card to pay for our resort, we did order quite a few Breakfasts to be delivered to our room and at the end of our stay in each hotel (WL and AKL) we settled up by using the registry card.
