I keep flashing to National Lampoon's Vacation because of this thread.

"I just want you to ask yourself one thing. If you were... if you were me, wouldn't you do the same thing for your children?"
"... NO."

Isn't it sad? You have to loose a child to a gator on property to get more compensation than a Fast Pass anymore.

If you're going to make posts like that, then maybe you should change your avatar to this.

He wasn't taking anything besides free entry w/ fireworks viewing. This was a lost cause and he was probably pretty irate.
He was already in the park and just wanted to see the fireworks. He was told by a resort concierge CM that it was open late. Then he got his park day cut shortened he was already there and his child was in tears. How does a Fast Pass for a ride at a park closed to day guest compensate for that? They didn't want to do a ride. They wanted to see the fireworks.

It's a ticketed event. Not fair to those who paid....sorry, but he's outnumbered and should have planned better. He got bad info but that doesn't mean he deserves entry to an exclusive event.

So how does offering a fast pass for a ticketed event do him any good when he doesn't have a ticket? This is what I'm am trying to say. They have many more options than Fast Passes but they treated him like an assembly line and offered their lowest compensation to get him to leave.

Then he should have planned better. In this day and age there's no excuse.

We don't know WHAT Fast Passes he was offered. It could have been for whatever park he planned to visit the next day, or FPs for another park that WAS still open. He didn't elaborate. He was too busy being righteously indignant.

Newsflash. Not everyone plans every minute of their day. And he DID try to plan a few days early by asking a Disney concierge person but was given false information.
The only thing they should have offered was an apology.
Really? So all this world class Disney Guest Relations is just robots standing behind a desk who constantly repeat "sorry" all day? :cautious:

Oh so you were there with him observing everything?

In this case, it kind of is just "Sorry" if he doesn't want the compensation offered. It's an iffy story that even if true, they hear countless times per day. They can't just let everyone who cries "I didn't know" into the park for a ticketed event. Again, not fair to those who paid.

What other options are there that would make him happy? He was pretty adamant the only thing that would fix this is seeing the fireworks. Again, NOT an option sir.

Anybody else notice that the OP is long gone from this discussion?
Is there any reason for me to chime in?
There was a snafu in my favor that happened last night (but only noticed this morning) that has more than made up for things. So I'm good. More than good actually. Normally I would have pointed it out but, no, not this time.

Never said he should have planned every minute of his day. Why don't you not put words in my mouth. You know exactly what I was talking about. This man who apparently felt fireworks were the end-all be-all of existence relied on another human being to give him information in a day and age where that same information is available from many different sources. Again, you knew what I was talking about.

And yes, this world-class Disney Resort owed him nothing. Nothing more than an apology. What would you have given him if you were the manager behind that desk? Would you have given him a lifetime passes to the Disney Resort of his choice? Would you have given him his own personal guide to walking through the park every single day? Would you have gotten down and licked his boots? What would you have given him? I'll tell you what I would have given him, "I apologize for the inconvenience sir concierge individual made an error I will Endeavor to make sure that it doesn't happen again."
