I did a internet search for you jt04

John Galt is a fictional character in Ayn Rand's novel Atlas Shrugged

Ohhhhhh. Hmmmm, OK who is Ayn Rand? Sorry I am not as intellectual as some of yall.

OK, another for my list......

Gloria María Milagrosa Fajardo García de Estefan and her husband Emilio.

This is a great life story and they own Bongos at DTD. :sohappy:

Must have been a typo. :o
Lets not forget Wolgang Puck and the guy who is behind Landry's chain and the inventor of the Kuka arm, the guy who invented Legos and hey Eddie Sotto. There are a multitude of entrepenuers who have a stake with Disney. That is because Disney makes a lot of money and has a large clinetelle.

**Just to let you know even some of us socialists read the competition***

Tiger Woods. Probably the greatest golfer in history signed a deal to do promotions for Disney several years ago and before the scandal broke. Obviously that deal is likely null and void for obvious reasons but that does not change the fact that he signed a deal with Disney. WDW specifically I think.

There is not more to the list than what I mentioned. That some of you are adding all these other distractions such as references to socialism and Rand are being far too analytical.

The only common thread is that all the people I have mentioned have amazing life stories and come from very simple or ordinary backgrounds to achieve amazing heights through talent but mostly hard work.

It has so much more to do with this than money. All "socialists" seem to think about is money. Odd that. Money is often a byproduct of greatness. It is not what generates greatness.

The only common thread here is you hopelessly trying to tie together any "entrepreneurs" that have crossed paths with the conglomerate that is Disney, in any way shape or form, whether it be Bongos or the manufacturers of the toilet paper in the tomorrowland bathrooms. Nope, sorry. You'll have to do better than that.

As usual, you're being subjective.

Life's full of surprises.

Plus all of them come from humble beginnings and exemplify the American dream. Even Branson who is British. It is not just that they are successful people who work with Disney, it is that they have all been so unbelievably successful elsewhere. If the list seems less than that to somebody it is because they lack a historical perspective. It really is an amazing group. I feel sorry for anyone that can't recognize that. Oh yeah.......

Jim Henson.

You do know that his major break resulted from *gasp* public television, right? Are you sure he is worthy of being on your master list of American dreamers?

I see your point but he gets a pass for a major reason called "Yoda".

What would Star Wars be without that character?

I suspect Henson would have succeeded without PBS.

Also, Arnold Schwarzenegger. (Planet Hollywood)

Okay, so back when this thread was about golf . . .

Will the new AP management also include caddies?

As a golfer who has played at Disney quite a few times, all I can say is I hope not. This may not be a reflection of courses with caddies everywhere, but in my experience, having caddies would only slow things down.

Honestly, golf at Disney, at least the times I've played it, has been consistently on the slower end of pace-of-play. Once, my foursome was actually told by a ranger to slow down. I'm sorry, but that's just not appropriate. When I go golfing, I expect to have an 18 hole round done in four hours. Maybe if it's a tough course, I expect it to be done in four and a half. In Florida, where an hour can mean the difference between hot and ungodly hot, I plan my tee-times to get me off the course and into a pool or theme park by that point.

Caddies provide an awesome service, and I would love to golf with their insight, but honestly, at resort courses, I think they would just slow things down. Plus, with a company as large as Disney there may be some OSHA concerns to deal with. Granted, my concept of caddies involves walking, so if there is a system that is different, it may work, but I think GPS enabled carts could do that job just as well, and much cheaper.

Spielberg also owns part of UOR.

Try again.

This fact just serves to prove my point. And so I think I will try again. How about a trifecta?

Joe Lee, Michael Graves, Eddie Sotto

PS Joe Lee designed the Palm and Magnolia so this can't be called "thread drift" I recken.
