Disney Glitches/Malfunctions

Once I rode Splash with no sound, which made it pretty boring and that's one of my favorites!

Our best one was when we rode Tower of Terror way back in the first couple months after it opened. We got to the top and the door opened. Then we lowered-a little. Stopped, sat (the doors closed), and then a voice came on the loud-speaker telling us that the ride had malfunctioned. All of us sat there, unsure of whether this was truly a malfunction or all part of the ride (no one with us had ridden it before-it was new). Our car was slowly lowered to the ground level, we were walked by a CM through a backstage area and immediately sent to ride it again. You know, that's the last time we rode it-we've been too afraid to try again!

Wow that is really terrifying! I'm not sure I'd ride it either!

Cronkite SSE -
stopped for no less than twenty minutes directly in front of EEHX TRA EEHX TRA NEW YORK DAILEEE...
the voice, the volume, the endless repetition - the sense of impending mental collapse inside the omni was palpable; however, simply mentioning that phrase today brings vivid remembrance and laughter to all involved... a family classic

Honestly, it scared me to death! You don't fully realize how close the tracks are, or how high up everything is until the lights are on. I still love it, but I definitely get a little more scared while on it, which, now that I think about it, might be a good thing haha!

I actually miss the vehicles having a little black lite stuff on them because it was fun seeing the cars moving and realizing how close you were to each other and it added to the ride. The total darkness isnt that thrilling for me. I like leaning into the turns to keep my back from getting hurt so that aspect not so good. I'd prefer a glimmer of black light here and there on the vehicles just enough to let your eyes get a glimmer of directions.

I rode Space mountain with lights on. We also did Star Tours once with nothing on the screen halfway through, but C3P0 doing his thing still. They eventually shut it down and rebooted. Saw the electrical water pageant with about half the barges with no lights on. We were at the Poly.

I don't have super exciting ones. Mostly just the standard videos during the descent on SSE not working right. Once it spazzed out and didn't take a good photo of my mom, so there was just this weird black void where her face should've been, or where it should've put the default cartoon face instead.

Me neither, my funnest one was on the create your own figment thingy i accidently turned it into a tab instead, so i could look up other things on the computer, and their background was a Koala xD

My son and I got stuck at the top of BTMRR during the entire presentation of Wishes (RIP). I think we had the best view in the park!

Forgot entirely about this one: SSE had a glitch for about half the ride where the audio/motion for the AAs were turned off, and the ride lights were on at full brightness. Will definitely have to dig around files for pics.

Another Tower of Terror one - got to the bit where you see all the visual effects, the lift thing stopped and there was a loud clunking noise. Sat in the dark for 10 mins, then all the lights came on. We were pushed by cast members through the set, saw all the weird glass panels/orbs the effects go through, was pretty cool. We were taken to the front of the line to ride again - nobody except my grandad chose to go on!

Not really a glitch or malfunction, but once a friend and I were in the long, painful line for Soarin' at EPCOT, and the silly video game that projects the balls onto the wall that you hit wasn't on for some reason. We got to the corner, where the control panel for that is. My friend peeked over, then leaned over and hit one of the buttons, and the game turned on! People behind us were pretty excited about that one....

I have a few that come to mind.

In SSE, in the printing press scene, the green steam engine had been broken for years, was recently fixed, and now it's broken again.

About a month ago on a viewing of Tough to Be a Bug, there was no grasshopper.

Little Mermaid show in DHS - the water curtain was broken, fixed, then broken again.

Ellen's Energy Adventure in Epcot - during the 3-screen show, one of the screens was totally dark.

Also on another trip with Ellen, as the vehicles are moving into the final room, with Jeopardy on the right hand side, the small screen on the left started behind its drape, but then shut off. The turntable didn't turn at all. We sat in the dark for 5 minutes or so, and then were escorted out of our ride vehicles and to the exit. Kinda cool, actually!

In COP, we were in the last scene and at some point John reaches up from behind the kitchen island, except his hand was missing. It had clearly fallen off recently, because the CM had no idea when we told him. We just laughed, but i think it caught a few children off guard and scared them a little.

The wife and I were on an anniversary trip May of '16. Long story short, we were gifted tickets to the After Hours event by a CM (awesome by itself). Our favorite ride is SDMT. We especially love the mine scene. So we go through the mine and start up the hill and BLAM.... The ride comes to s complete sudden stop. The announcement was simply "someone will be with you shortly to assist you from the ride". NOT "your ride will resume shortly" lol. So we got to get out of the train and walk back through the mine with all that animatronic's still in motion. it was awesome. As an added bonus, as we are leaving we are each given two fastpasses to any ride. We each used one for SDMT and gifted two to a couple waiting in line. Paid it forward .

We were on the Maelstom. Three people in the front row were quite heavy. When we got to the big troll (Disappear! Disappear!) our boat got hung up and would not make the pivot to sail backwards. We waited about 15 minutes before the water was drained out and a CM came to escort us back down to Norway.

We were evacuated off the peoplemover after about a 20 minute stoppage. I think it's been 30 years since someone entered that emergency access stairwell. It was nasty. The ceiling tiles were sagging, missing, and water damaged beyond belief. No taj mahal in there.....
