I actually think this does kinda make sense, although I’m surprised they haven’t raised the price of the multipark version higher than Magic Kingdom? Same as charging more for park hopper?

Certainly don’t think cheaper version for the quieter parks is a bad thing but then again our family doesn’t use Genie+

First off…it’s not “cheaper”. If to follow the day to day prices…this is actually for all intents and purposes a raise across the board.

Second, this is also not a “cap” on the upper end.
$50 a day will be here soon. They just don’t have the attendance for it as it stands.

It’s empty. Saw another picture today. Selling genie is snakeoil now.

Desantis should investigate THAT 🤪

Not necessarily.

Again, as presented this isn't that bad. If they come out a week or a few months after it starts and double the price of the all-park version then I will be first in line with my pitchfork at the ready. I certainly recognize that is a possibility but even then, it is a bit of a no-lose situation in my mind.

If they have started to learn from recent mistakes and are being legit about this, prices will not increase significantly beyond some minor adjustments here or there for a good while. They will take the increased sales volume/profit from AK and EPCOT and be happy. On the other hand, if they truly are stupid and go ahead and significantly jack up the prices on any or all of the G+ options it will trigger even more to abandon Disney and their numbers will continue to go down the toilet until people are fired and/or significant changes are made.
I’ll get my pitchfork sharpener ready 🤓

They don’t have any attendance…genie is neutralized for “more revenue” as long as that holds

I just view it like going to the casino and Disney is the house.

Some individuals will come out ahead (just as some individuals will benefit from this change) ... But in the end, the house (or the Mouse) always wins
Trouble is a casino has more upside than a slate of 40 year old rides and $60 buffets

People now need to decide by 7 AM:
1. if they want an ILL,
2. Do they want a VQ,
3. Do they want G+, and now
4. If yes to #3, do they want a single park or multi-park?

Not exactly a stress-free start to the day, is it?
Now remember doing that months in advance? And getting up even earlier to hit your window opening? :)

Guys, it's not cheaper though. MK at $27? Soon Epcot and AK will be $27 and MK $50.

I will admit I'm surprised. I didn't think they would increase costs on Genie + right now.

And I know it's not only resort guests who hop, but a lot of us do. And as a resort person, it really is getting harder and harder to not feel like an idiot when staying onsite. 😂

Or the price for MK/multi-park will go up to $50+ dollars, an annoyingly high number of people will pay it, and Captain will be confused about why, again, most people here don't share his joy over it after insulting a bunch of people by either calling them idiots, fringe, or old. 🤷‍♂️

I'm surprised that Disney doesn't try to make sure they get some good publicity along with all of this genie+ stuff. Throw us some crumbs with a few (even cheap) offerings or special parades or *anything* to distract from the fact that they keep making lousy changes to an already lousy system that everyone hates. They seem utterly and completely tone deaf to customer satisfaction, which is not something I thought I'd be saying about Disney of all places.

Hey! Im one of those old idiots on the fringe!
I think the only requirements for those monikers around here are disagreeing with his opinions on entirely subjective things. I believe there's a clinical diagnosis for people who are like that.

... there's more I'd like to say but I've already been dancing on the line of personal attacks in this thread as sort of a recent boiling point after seeing how he treats people across the board on the regular for too long, now (not just me).

I'm moving quickly towards the block/ignore option which sucks because I don't disagree with everything he says but at some point, it gets hard to separate the messenger from the message.

Is there a chance that the sample prices showing aren’t base but for the current dynamic price for this time of year?

I’m grasping for hope here 😆

Not that I’m saying I like $27 at MK. And I realize it is an increase vs what it is now by a few bucks. Just looking for a light and hoping it’s not the one from the Metallica lyric….

What happens if you want to upgrade from the one park option to the multi-park?

"Asked if guests who purchased the service for one park could upgrade to a multi-park option after the fact, a Walt Disney World spokesperson informed us that guests could purchase Genie+ for the additional park and visit Guest Services to be refunded the difference between the combined total and the Multi-Park price."

The level of contempt they feel for their Walking Wallets (f/k/a "Guests") is palpable.

Really? What do you define as “fringe behaviour”? 10%, 20%, 30%?

Of the 40% of guests who have park hoppers (according to @lentesta ’s analysis) you think that they all know in advance that they will absolutely, definitely park hop that day?

It never happens that after the pool the kids &/or parents decide they either don’t want to go back to a park or change their minds about where they want to go to?

The majority of international guests who have park hopping automatically added to their tickets know they can be completely flexible in their plans, often because they have 2 weeks to enjoy the parks. So plans can, and do, get changed day by day.
I would think ticket holders trend more towards deciding ahead of time to hop, but AP holders - since they can always hop - would be more inclined to decide in the moment where they want to go. I definitely think AP holders made spur of the moment choices.

The only thing is though, if a group is thinking about hopping, it pays to start stacking G+ well before arriving at the 2nd park. Otherwise they are missing out on prime options. If they wait until they are on the way to the 2nd park - say 5pm or later- not much is left to G+. If you start stacking passes at 2pm, then you can get some decent G+ for MK.

If one wants to make the most of G+, the only worthwhile hop is to go to MK in the PM though, because MK has the most rides, and is open the latest. by 2pm, there isn't much left in AK, HS or Epcot. All the good G+ rides are long gone.

Well, in those days there was no charge for FP+ and the only choice needed was "which park on each day?" Hopping wasn't artificially delayed, park reservations weren't needed so you could change your mind about what park to start with at any time without needing to visit Guest Services to get a partial refund, and that 7 AM planning session was a one-time thing instead of each day of your trip. But other than that, this is way better! 😉

Yeah you did it once... and then were a slave to it...

but you still had to decide if you were park hopping, still had to do it early, etc etc etc

I'm not saying this is better... but to hear people upset about choices they have to make... choices that Disney locked in ages ago and now just parade around under different guises...
