They used to project random photopass shots of people on the castle every night. So it’s not exactly unprecedented.
Funny thing about that...

We were once at MK during that era on a day where it was raining heavily much of the day, and grey anytime it did stop.

Later that evening we stayed for the castle photos show.

It was REALLY funny, because half the photos showed beautiful smiling people on a sunny day, and the other half of the pictures had what we drubbed, 'the wet rat look.' Almost everyone in photos that were actually taken that day were wearing plastic ponchos, maybe with racoon-mascara eyes and all with bedraggled wet hair. Not only were the sunny photos sunny, but yes- they were very much people of above-average beauty.

So that became a running joke in our family. Photo from today...NOT today...today...

If you've been to WDW in different seasons, not just wet/dry, it is just as funny to pull up off-season photos during a visit winter vs. summer attire.

I think MK needs more nighttime shows like MWCT. And Wishes. Do away with the castle projections and focus on cool lighting effects around the park.

I think the projections are fine when used right.
Yeah. No way they can get rid of them now. But I think they'd do well to get rid of the hub-centric nature by expanding projections to other areas or otherwise providing unique experiences that draw guests out of the hub.
I'm thinking projections in tomorrowland with maybe some different characters and maybe even a separate audio track to incorporate sounds for the different projections.

They need to get rid of the hub-centric nature for sure. I don’t think they will ever be able to fully do that though but adding projections and effects to other areas of the park might help. I’d say fountains in Frontierlands Rivers of America but unlike Disneyland I don’t think MK can do that.

So just ship those projectors off to Cast Connections or the Lakeland "mall"? I don't think they are done depreciating those yet.
They have invested in this tech and will use it until it sinks into a lagoon like RoE 20 - 30 years? Depends on the cost of bulbs

Should we still expect a HEA announcement, or whatever it will be, on Sunday? Or is there a good chance they may hold off on this announcement till a later date? From little bits we’ve heard from insiders it was sounding like HEA and F! would be the only entertainment announcements in store for WDW at D23. There was other dreams for entertainment but not realistic ones.

Why do I feel like they're going to announce a new show for the 100th anniversary instead of HEA and everyone is going to be disappointed. I don't want to jinx this but I'm just saying.

Because it's been routine for the last decade to over promise and under deliver ?

Now there have been some wonderful things that actually existed like the dragon or the tie and xwing but they were just for the press, not actual paying guests.

Honestly, I'm scared for this, or was scared.

Over the past few months, I think I've come to terms that HEA may never really come back. It was unhealthy to continually obsess over HEA coming back, that I rather be surprised then be disappointed (sounds like my college football interests lol). If they did bring it back so soon, it would've gotten another round of pyro cuts that it would havw been sad.

If Disney actually has a HEA 2.0 in the works; do it right or don't do it at all. Or just bring it back in its original form.

I guess it also helps that I've been really digging into Harmonius recently ever since the D+ special aired. That Someday finale has gotten me hooked that I watch every new video/stream of that last 3 mins.

I don’t think anyone should have ever expected an HEA announcement…
