Yea, I suppose that the little blue pill has changed a lot of that, but the question I have is if you take all the situations, how many are done by 80 year olds as opposed to 20 or 30 somethings. Please let me reiterate that I am not dismissing the fact that it covers all ages, I just think that if you are on the lookout for those people, the majority are not going to be older people.
That I can agree with. They are of all ages, races, religions, and yes, some are even women. Some look creepy, some look like the boy/girl next door, or respected pillars of the community. They can be anyone - even your own children or parents, brother or sister. Anyone. So you can either be afraid of everyone else in the world, every moment, or do what you can to minimize the risk, knowing that it might not be enough, but you can't depend on someone else to keep your children 100% safe. As mentioned earlier, common sense. But one of the most obvious is to check frequently to see who your children are talking with online - your computer is a door to the world. You wouldn't leave your children alone with the doors unlocked, don't leave them totally unattended with a computer. Drop in unexpectedly to see what they're doing - or keep the computer in the family room. (I did). That is a common denominator in a lot of these "stranger" cases , and why the police use online stings - this is where these perverts are finding their victims.

just because the "equipment" is not fully functional doesn't mean they cannot sexually abuse a child.
there are many forms of sexual abuse. "equipment" not fully working doesn't mean it can't happen.

Pedophiles are of all ages and the old man is more stereotype than reality. But yes some are older. The vast majority I did assessments on were 30ish to 40ish. But I came across younger ones and older ones. Trying to argue the possibility of any age group being capable misses the point that a pedophile can be any adult age. To be older usually means the pedophile either was able to avoid detection by luck or guile or the job they were in made detection difficult, a priest, minister or scout leader would be examples of the latter.

Exactly. Not to mention that when a pedophile turns 60 they don't all of a sudden quit being pedophiles. If they were a sick when they were young I'm pretty sure they are still sick when they are older as well.

I love how law enforcement was quoted as saying the man was just acting like a father. I just hope the perp doesn't find some lawyer who wants to get attention to cause a stink. I have a feeling this isn't over yet, unfortunately.

I've never seen anyone say that. There are those who think Disney could do more about this, but that's a far cry from this being only about Disney CM's.

Yeah, kind of like the guy I worked with at FedEx. He was in his 60's when he got popped for having old photos of stuff he had done to kids back in the 70's or so. Now remember folks, working at the Memphis FedEx hub requires a detailed federal background check, as you are handling postal mail, so you can do all kinds of checks but it won't always catch these folks.
