Keep Moving Forward
I agree there are creeps EVERYWHERE and truthfully your child is more likely to be preyed on by someone they know well not a theme park employee they don't know.
No but it would be stupid to say that there are absolutely zero child predator CMs at WDW. With 300,000+ employees it is highly likely there are child predators, rapists, future murders etc among them. Pure ignorance to say otherwise.
300,000 employees?!!!! WDW has an estimate of 70,000 CMs.
how was Disney involved?

I'm definately not defending any of the theme parks here. But given the number of employees arrested, over a span of 8 years, this is a very small amount of people. That same percentage can be applied to any corporation or job across this country.
We really don't know who is and who isn't a child preditor until they are caught, if they are caught. They are probably everywhere and we just don't know it. So I feel this story is using the employment-that-caters-to-children factor to bring negative attention to these parks when in fact there are most likely child preditors near them at this very moment but they refuse to believe it. Check out "In A Town This Size" on Netflix.
We all know that Disney, Univeral and Sea World don't just cater to children but to families of all ages. And there are thousands of jobs within these companies that don't have any contact with guests at all.
I agree. Unfortunately, the law of averages dictate that a certain percentage will be "bad apples". And that goes with doctors, nurses, teachers, cops, politicians, etc....Huge demographic?
35 arrests out of 70,000 CMs? That 0.05%.
A Disney employee was involved therefore it involves Disney. They represent the park. Just like when an athelete does something wrong it reflects negatively on the players team.
Im sure there is a good chance this person was up to some sort of no good while at work.
That sounds pretty strange. I would get up and leave as well.I've got stories.
I used to intentionally give surveys to older men sitting across from child fountains. Most of them got up and left.
I'm sorry, but I don't believe this. While kids should be taught a reasonable amount of caution, I believe that most people in this world are good. To quote Patton Oswalt- "But the vast majority stands against that darkness and, like white blood cells attacking a virus, they dilute and weaken and eventually wash away the evil doers and, more importantly, the damage they wreak. This is beyond religion or creed or nation. We would not be here if humanity were inherently evil. We'd have eaten ourselves alive long ago."
I don't know what you did as a survey or what you were trying to prove, but it is obvious that you are not an older man that has already raised your children and miss those years. It is insulting to imply that because an "old man" was sitting there watching children having fun in the fountains have carnal thoughts in mind or anything close to that. Let me educate you, in this case, what they are thinking is how much they miss there small children, the wide eyed excitement that they seem to come by so easily. The years of togetherness, bonding and working their way through the tough times, the easy times and the shear joy of watching your children grow to be happy, healthy and successful adults. But, that doesn't mean that they don't get a little melancholy about the fact that those days are gone and they try to revive that by simply watching a child laughing, giggling and having fun.
As a side note, I think that if you had come up and surveyed me in a way that implied what you are saying, we might have both had to leave the park. Me with an escort and you in an ambulance.

I remember when this story broke in 2006. Way to go CNN, key part of the article is interview with a MK employee arrested eight years ago.
New motto for CNN: The news you need, no more than 8 years after you needed it... that's our promise.
PhotoDave is correct. 35 / 70000 = .0005
.0005 * 100 = .05%
Its actually scary. There are sexual predators EVERYWHERE. I worked with a guy who, about 6 months ago, killed himself because he was busted with child . Just check online to see who is in your area and you will sh*t when you realize that there are more than a few right down the street and in your small town. It creeps me out and again its scary as hell.
I don't believe so........if you take 70,000 X .05% that is 3,500 not 35.
I believe I am correct.
BTW..........it has been reported that the actual number of CM over the 8 years is 300,000 so the % is more like .0001%
