Disney Destiny

I thought Disney was trying to scrub all references to Facilier?

Between this and Villains unfairly after, he sure does have a lot of presence for someone going away...
Based on the character profile given to the Cast Members who are friends of Facilier I think they have done enough to neuter his character to an acceptable level. Along with his recent new costume that removed the skulls etc the character can no longer refer to voodoo, black magic, friends on the other side etc.

Do the other villain M&Gs refer to their penchant for murder? Aren't they also neutered?

BTW, where and when can one M&G Facilier such that you can get a PG discussion with him?

I mean murder is quite a common past time for many villains so I'm sure it comes up.

No idea where you can meet Facillier. I'm guessing on the Destiny at least.

That’s bizarre though because things like Splash Mountain abandoned their problematic source material but were still problematic. Not sure how this wouldn’t be the same issue

Here's what Disney Cruise Line says about the show:

A colorful ensemble of live musicians and storytellers invite you on a musical journey through the award-winning soundtrack from The Lion King as you dine, retelling Simba’s rise from cub to king.

During special intervals throughout your meal, the band and performers revisit beloved songs using authentic African instruments and theatrical props to represent the story and characters.
The nostalgic set list includes:

  • Productions of “Circle of Life” and “Hakuna Matata.”
  • A mash-up of “I Just Can’t Wait to Be King” and “Be Prepared,” a fun take that highlights the hero-villain dynamic of the story.
  • An instrumental version of “Can You Feel the Love Tonight” paired with a beautiful interpretive dance.
  • A moving rendition of “He Lives in You” from the sequel film and Broadway show.

It was nice seeing more images of what the Destiny will look like, but the Grand Hall is not clicking with me. I’m sure it will look better in person, so I look forward to finding out!
I officially retract my previous statement regarding the Grand Hall. Based on the photos from today, it works for me and can’t wait to see it in person on February 28th!

Those costumes look fantastic.

But umm when they did Moana they strongly voiced how they needed Pacific islanders so it would have authenticity. Now when its a story about greek mythology that quest for authenticity no longer matters???
I'm Greek American and it's very common for Greek's culture somehow to not be authentic. Look at the Cleopatra documentary on netflix where they said she was black, when she was in fact Greek. Or the new Odyssey movie with tom Holland. Greeks look same as Levantine people for most part. And Greeks were some of the most persecuted people in the world (Ottoman Empire, Greek Genocide, burning of Smyrna), but sadly big companies don't care.
