Disney Cruise or Disney World

The irony is, we aren't actually stopping at the Bahamas. But they consider it that since we are in the basic area. The stops are Castaway Cay, Port Canaveral and Key West.
Strange!!!! My friend did a 3 or 4 night cruise on the Fantasy last year when it was sailing out of NYC to the Bahamas and it stopped at Atlantis resort!

Does that mean you're going the night of the 23th and night of the 24th?.. I swear you and I literally have the EXACT same vacations planned! Lol! too funny!

Tammy thinks it's just because of them slapping an itinerary together really quick for Galveston and they had to call it something. Normally, they do stop there.

Ah, we are taking our first cruise coming up here too (May 10th), but we are taking the 8-night Bahamian cruise on the Magic out of Galveston.

We just did that cruise itinerary last week! It was our first Disney Cruise and we had so much fun!

Which brings me to the original posters question, I think both Disney World with the cruise would be the ideal. My kids loved, loved, loved their time on the ship and at Castaway Cay. We spent one day at Disney World also, and it definitely left my children wanting more because it was so busy (spring break), we only rode three rides  Anyway, my takeaway was that the ideal for our family (two children ages 5 and 10) would be 4 days at Disney World and then maybe a 5 day cruise afterward to unwind and relax after the action of Disney World.

Yeah, we look forward to seeing the new stuff that wasn't finished when we visited in Sept (like the FLE and TT 2.0). It was my GFs first time to see WDW so we were there 5 days and did a "marathon" through the parks (pretty much open to close each day including EMHs). I just had so much to show her and had to catch up with some old friends/co-workers while I was there as well. This time, we are doing the opposite - just going casual and slow paced. We do have some decent excursions booked throughout - mainly snorkeling.

If you've never been to the parks. Hands down, the WDW. They're the classic, family friendly place that every child dreams of. They will allow and amazing experience and more bonding time with your child. The parks open up more thing to do than any cruise could. (Not that I don't adore the cruises!) I say if you want to feel the Disney magic ( not the ship, the actual feeling ) I say the WDW is the place for that magical atmosphere.

Cruise. I love the cruises but I'd wait till your daughter is older, she needs a chance to actually want to go on the cruise. I know most 4 year old girls want to be a princess and, Honestly, I am bias towards WDW being a better place for children. When she's a teen or a preteen who wants some independence and wishes to go on a cruise, I'd go then. Makes the trip allot more appreciated, whereas now she would enjoy being a princess for a week.

Just go for a day or two before and/or after. If you have to go out of Port Canaveral, it just makes sense. For us, driving 14 hrs means if we miss Disney World, it's a dumb waste just to drive there and skip it. We have done 2 Land & See trips in Feb/mar and in April. In both cases, going to the parks and the cruises was amazing.

It would be painful to go by Orlando and not see something there.
