News Disney Confirms Muppets Take Over Rock 'n' Roller Coaster at Hollywood Studios

I think putting MV3D in Sunset, with some updates, would be awesome in a world where cost doesn't matter lol. RnRC perhaps exposes a wider audience to the charm of the IP as people ride it more for the coaster but then "rediscover" the Muppets, then maybe that makes people interested enough to go next door and try the classic show that most people skipped before.

But, as others have already pointed out, this is a far-fetched idea since they would basically have to gut the theater for it and I can't see Burbank seeing the point in that.

If they don't have the Electric Mayhem doing their songs on this, they will have missed the boat entirely. I don't want to hear them singing random pop songs. We need actual Muppet humor on this, not just audio that sounds like the Muppets singing random songs we can hear on the radio.
Electric Mayhem has always kinda been a cover band. Heck, most of the Muppet Show was just Muppets singing preexisting songs. I think we’ll probably get some covers on this soundtrack. I’d look at the Muppets Mayhem soundtrack for an idea of what they’ll do here. About half covers and half original Mayhem stuff.

Part of the humor were the visual gags that went on with the preexisting songs. It's not as funny if you can't see the gags, and you won't see any gags on RNRC. You'll hear imitations of the Muppet voices doing imitations of preexisting songs. There's not really a gag in that, and the Muppets are all about gags.

I expect there will be some gags in the set design. Those flats could easily be replaced or repainted to incorporate puns and Muppet theming. I’m sure the queue and preshow will have plenty of fun gags and quips. I think this will be a big win

You're a little late on this discussion because MuppetVision is already being removed from its current location (we don't yet know it's final landing place, if any) and RnRC will be Muppets.
I'm not late to the discussion at all. I'm participating in the discussion. See this active thread? This is a discussion. :)

I was giving my *reaction* to what Disney has decided, not suggesting that they hadn't already decided. Disney can change their decision. They have been known to do that once or twice.

Are you seriously going to use that as an example? We all know why there is nothing from the former ride--theme, music, props, AAs--other than the logs, track, and water that's left. And that was very much intentional. Even Splash Mountain carvings on the logs were removed.
I mean, what props HAS Disney reused nowadays? I used Tiana's Bayou Adventure as an example because people were theorizing that they would reuse at least some of the America Sings animatronics from Splash Mountain in it, and they did not.

The only things I can think of are in the Mission:Breakout queue (Harold, Figment, CBJ Octopus)

I think a prop or two from The Great Movie Ride was reused in Galaxy's Edge, but that's all I can think of right now. They usually just trash animatronics from attractions they shut down.
A few GMR figures, or at least parts of them, went to Galaxy Edge:

- Wicked Witch became Kylo
- Rippley behind the box became Finn

Or throw them in the background of Imagineering YouTube videos

Apparently some of the splash animatronics motors and other inside wiring stuff went into some of the country bears

Because it feels like complaining for the sake of complaining. It's not like this is a new build. The ride is already in the park. It's not changing the fact there is a launch coaster in the park. And it's not eliminating something for the whole family to do. Every complaint you have about it feeling like Universal does not change with this, unless your complaint is they should completely tear down RnRC and build something different (which I bet would make a whole lot more angry). As a MV3D lover, I'm still mad it's going when there are other areas laying essentially vacant, but I struggle to understand the complaint about this retheme.
It’s reducing the attractions without a height requirement by 1. If there was a clear announcement for a replacement 3d type show then I see what you’re saying. All the other Disney parks have more to offer that is universally acceptable. Hollywood Studios has always ranked last, then AK, and Epcot and Mk are awesome about variety of attractions. Personally we already find HS frustrating for the amount of rides we RS. Muppets was an attraction we could enjoy with everyone. So it’s not a problem with RnRC existing, it’s giving a property that was accessible to everyone over to a ride system that isn’t. I’m also generally kind of bored with every ride being a coaster. If Monster land had a dark ride, theater show, and the coaster or just the first two, I’d see this as a win.

IMO it depends not just on the kid but also the parents too. My 5 year old loves big thrill rides already. A lot of that is due to my wife and I taking her to Cedar Point since she was a 2. Since the wife and I love intense coasters, she's wanted to follow in our footsteps.

Where as I think if the only park you visit is Disney it's a lot harder to get kids into big coasters and thrills.
I thought this would be the case for us and it was mostly for my stepdaughter. My 6 year old is totally different though, it was a big deal that she liked Soarin and Ratatouille last year. We still can’t get her on a kiddie coaster.

Not sure how you want to define "nowadays" but three come to mind:
1. 7 Dwarfs Mine Train: Snow White, Dwarfs, and Old Witch AAs in final scene from Snow White's Scary Adventures
2. Gran Fiesta Tour: Three Caballeros AAs from Mickey Mouse Revue
3. Spaceship Earth: At least one President AA from HOP.

It is not. Context matters

"Building off the exciting announcements from last summer’s D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event, the new land will include the coaster we’ve all dreamed of – a suspended ride recreating the door vault scene – plus dining and shopping and a whole new theater show. "

Monsters is getting a theater show to make it a 2 attraction land
