Disney confirms 'Frozen' makeover coming to Epcot's Norway Pavilion

I'll miss Maelstrom but don't have a problem with a Frozen ride. We'll ride it and have fun. And in general, it won't have any impact on our love for World Showcase.

However, what is a little frustrating is that Epcot needs work done in Future World desperately, and they chose to put time and effort where it wasn't all that necessary. IMO

However cool the ride looks/feels/is (no matter the opinion on it being in Norway) it will always be way too short. Therefor it will always have that what if feeling for me (even before ever riding). Reading the description, I can't help but feeling how they could have made an epic attraction if they wouldn't have gone the cheap band-aid approach. It's a shame, while I'm not a huge Frozen fan, it deserved better.

Sounds like someone has low standards.

Maelstroms track is getting re used, its virtually incapable of being an E ticket.
Sounds like they basically went with the same approach as Journey of The Little Mermaid. Show random characters and parts of the movie that wouldnt actually make any coherent sense to a rider who has never seen the movie and then slap on the old, "We take you into the movie without retelling the story", which props up their lazy efforts of actually trying to tell a story.

What was the phrase with 7DMT? "We are telling the story through the eyes of the dwarves" Im still trying to figure out what exactly the dwarves saw and experienced in the story of Snow White because it doesnt seem like much based on the ride.

You've got to look at things from their perspective:

Sigh. I guess this means I can't visit the World Showcase when I go. At all. I hate, hate, HATE Frozen and I have no desire to be bombarded with it and the inevitable hordes of idiot fans. I know that's harsh, but in total seriousness, the VAST MAJORITY of people I encounter who cite Frozen as their favorite literally know NOTHING about Disney or its history. They're NOT Disney fans, they're fans of this one movie. There is a DIFFERENCE!!! Thank the Gods E&A aren't part of the "official" Princess lineup. Maybe I won't have to put up with them on Sofia The First. If they were going to make an appearance on that show, it probably would have been in Winter's Gift, given the plot of that episode so the fact that they didn't is encouraging.

Just curious for all the "haters" of Frozen, why the hate? Is it the actual movie itself that you hate or the fact that it is hugely popular and now its being shoved down our throats?

Eh, I like Frozen enough. The overexposure is obnoxious- but that would be with anything. Stitch is my favorite character of all time but his overexposure at the parks was equally obnoxious. Things are only overexposed because they are popular. I'm sure you noticed there wasn't overexposure of Home on the Range, right?

If anything, I think they are doing Frozen a disservice in Norway. It deserved something on the scale that DisneySea is doing. An entire mini-land based on them would be much more appropriate (for both the record breaking Frozen franchise and the "world" showcase).

Regardless, you can be a fan of Disney and a fan of Frozen and still know plenty about Disney. Elsa will be in the princess lineup eventually- as well she should be. Mulan, on the other hand, is and shouldn't be.

Both, actually. The writing and music are INCREDIBLY weak by Disney standards, the "moral" of the story is the most obnoxious faux-feminist nonsense I've ever seen (which is doubly annoying because they previously got feminism right with Princess Calla), Olaf is the most unfunny and annoying sidekick character EVER, etc. etc. It is hands down the WORST animated feature in the entire canon, and I don't say that lightly because I'm usually willing to forgive a lot when it comes to Disney. For this POS to be so ungodly popular is infuriating beyond belief.

"It's popular, therefore, it sucks"

- Internet Logic

While Anna and Elsa were originally intended to be a part of the Princess line up, Disney has changed their minds and has decided it's more profitable to sell "Frozen" as a seperate license for manufacturers to buy. Mulan's one and only job in the line is to be the token Asian girl, and she does that well enough.

Star Wars will never be criticized for being "overexposed" on the internet, because the bulk of online discussion is made by people who are nostalgic for the property and will buy most anything with the name attached to it. Hypocitical? Yes, but what can you do?
