Twofold: financial on that its a very minimal investment and they're capitalizing on a hot property in the short term

Doesn't Disney have a track record of building quality attractions that are beloved for decades? This doesn't seem to be consistent with the standard they have set for 60 years. Could a company making over 7 billion in profit last year, not see this as folly in the long term?

You're assuming that they're looking long term. Why the people who are in charge are likely not going to be here to see the fruit borne of their labors.

What is this *long term* you speak of? Oh, you must mean after Iger has cashed out. Ain't nobody got time to think that far ahead!

You mean to tell me, the current executive team is planning their exit in the next 2 to 3 years? That would mean that the languishing attractions and, in some cases, lack of attractions at the parks will be a problem left for someone else. Why would the leaders of the company choose this path?

So less than 1/3 of guests will be able to enjoy this attraction per day? That seems ill-conceived to me...

Its just basic math.. a family of 3 (parents + kid)..
the kid(1/3) will go to frozen, while the parents(2/3) will try to sunk as much booze as possible during the festivals to counter their suffering.
everyone gets happy.. except the parents wallets of course. :hilarious:

Does anyone have any update on construction?

What about the meet and greet? I guess I'm curious. Not sure why. I still think this is like buying cheap Saran Wrap. It's cheap but never really sticks.
Not really yet. I have a few friends back there, so I'll see if I can weasle anything from them. So far though everyone is towing the line on this one.

For $125 a person, you get a princess meal, a meet and greet and a chance to ride Frozen Ever After as well as preferred seating for the new Frozen Illuminations. Frozen Illuminations will be pretty awesome though. They are going to make it look like the lagoon froze with a projection and then using water cannons and projections make it look like the ice castle was erected by Else in the middle of the Lagoon. To keep with the theme, in the end she will unite the world with her winter party and everyone will come together in peace.

Let's say there's a WDWMagic Poster Showcase somewhere. It consists of pavilions dedicated to posters here at the mighty WDWMagic forums. And lucky you, you have your own WildcatDen pavilion. Every so often, Disney hits you up for money so they can keep the place up. You no pay, they no fix. After decades of this, it starts looking a little rundown. The Wildstrom ride isn't very popular anymore. But on the whole, your pavilion is not substantially better or worse than any of the others in the Poster Showcase. And overall, the PS is a heck of a lot better off than the mess made in the front of the park!

One day, Disney has a hit movie about animated wildcats called Catscratch. You're not in it. It's pure fiction, but there's a connection. They visited your house and took a couple of notes and then made up a story that takes place in a house that sort of resembles yours.

So Catscratch is a smash hit at the box office. That first Christmas, no one can find any toys or costumes. Disney eventually has a meet and greet with the main characters and the lines are absurd. Eventually, they decide that Catscratch is actually going to remain popular and they need to do something. So they decide to retheme most of the WildcatDen pavilion to this completely made-up Catscratch story.

There's no doubt the pavilion will be the most popular in the PS by far. In fact, your showcase is going to be completely overrun by Catscratch fans. The attraction will be woefully incapable of handling the demand. What's more, there will be very little left of you in the pavilion bearing your name. Yes, it will be popular. But it won't really be about you any more.

How happy are you about that?

You are telling me I will have my own Poster Showcase and a hit movie loosely based on me. How many ways are there to spell AWESOME!!!!

On a semi-serious side note. A) I like what you did here. Nice analogy. It is almost like the parable of the mustard seed except they are not alike at all. Still, New King James worthy. . . B) I guess I am mistaken when I thought they were mainly retheming the ride and adding a smallish meet and greet. Wouldn't the rest of the pavilion remain mostly the same as it is today and now will be visited by even more people?

I believe the IP deserves better. But this is what we got. I feel a little like Oliver, "Can 'we' have some more, please?"

I dont see how the rest of the pavilion could remain the same. The meet and greet is not that small. It is taking up an expansion pad that goes back a fair amount. Granted that may include stroller parking space, because that will be an issue. Beyond that you have the restaurant which is already princessified. The gift shop which is slowly going the way of 98%frozen merch, and a bakery... My guess is the bakery will be the same only with more frozen themed food. Not much of norway will remain after this.

While 2% is good for a milk, it is not much for a gift shop, I did not realize Frozen was 98% of the items there. Askerhaus is what it is and has been, so no real change there. I am only saying maybe we should wait until it is done before we say "Norway is dead, long live Olaf". If what you say comes to pass, I will join the chorus of hatred (while I munch on an Olaf Sno-Cone)

Im not saying its there yet but it will be. Norway will not be the destination anymore, its going to be frozen land. Its identity will be as good as gone.

Ah, perspective. See, a lot of things I have treasured from my past are "gone" in the way that they have evolved to be something different, yet, if I stand on one leg, squinting through a torn paper cup, sometimes I can see what it was I miss?
