Seeing it's a year away. Will people even care about Frozen any longer?
Do people still care for Lion King, Mermaid, Snow White?

I have no doubt that Frozen at EPCOT is going to be wildly popular. Sadly, I think this will be read by management as a confirmation that EPCOT needs to be further razed and replaced by toon and celeb rides for the great unwashed. In effect, both the park and its audience are being slowly replaced.

American Film, Japanese Film, Russian Film, that does not matter...the content is what matters, and does it showcase enough of Norwegian Influences to represent the culture...

Which is fine if it's presented as "here is how Norway influenced Frozen" like they do in the Stave Church exhibit. For me it doesn't work when you throw a full on Frozen ride in the pavilion.

I would agree in general....and hope that the ride will address this issue... The old Maelstrom was fun but always seemed like a half of a ride to me... it just gets started and then it is over...Knowing now they are not expanding the original footprint of the ride, I wonder what kind of attraction this will be... Norwegian culture and history along with a Frozen storyline is a lot to accomplish in a ride this short...

Based on what we have heard, I am thinking this is going to be a ride that does a straight up re-telling of the movie storyline and will not try to present Norwegian culture.

To be fair, I never really got much "Norwegian culture" out of the old ride, either. Trolls and oil rigs... that's about it. Will there be a video after the ride in the old theater? "Olaf explains how Norway provided ideas and inspirations for Frozen"?

If I had to guess I would say that the theatre is going to be removed to make more room for a queue.

Just a reminder for everyone, here is Staggs quote from the DPB. "The new attraction, which replaces Maelstrom, will take our guests to Arendelle and immerse them in many of their favorite moments and music from the film. "

Its not going to be Olaf narrating a Norwegian learning experience, there is not going to be any track extension, the attraction will not showcase Norway or any of the other ideas people have said they would like to see. It will most likely be the same as the Little Mermaid ride except with Frozen.

Im sure as the date approaches we will see the same hype machine that powered 7DMT. Over promising and under delivering. We will be beaten over the head with the same buzzwords such as 'innovative', 'immersive experience', and 'unique approach to storytelling'.
