Just replace it with the entertainment value you get when people state the allegedly logical reasons as to why this is entire overlay was a good idea.

Personally, I think this is a very bad idea, and here is the scary part. Epcot is in dire need of new attractions and Frozen is such a popular IP right now that I don't see how this project can really fail. The ride does not even need to be all that great. My worry is that Disney will see this success and use it as a precedent for future development in WDW.

Truth is, a very well done ride that compliments the Norway pavilion and pays, at least, some homage to Norway could be a very nice addition. But I just fear this becoming 'a thing'.

Here's a scarier part for you...this won't 'become a thing'....it's already 'the thing'

The only way I see this "failing" is people waiting hours for the ride and then getting off thinking, "that's what we waited so long for?" The Maelstrom layout is not at all suited for something like this and I'm prediciting it'll be painfully obvious how shoehorned the ride is in that space.

If it's a win for everyone I'm starting to question who I am exactly, because I'm definitely not part of this "everyone" you speak of  Same goes for a good number of other people.
Well I suppose that many people here live in the states where this past winter has been a very unwelcomed guest. And the fact that Punxsutawney Phil saw his shadow on February 2nd and is predicting six more weeks of the current frozen maelstrom would make many people unhappy. But things will warm up. I tend to agree with Staten Island Chuck who has predicted that an early spring is approaching.

I wasn't a huge Maelstrom fan. I liked it, but it wasn't a must ride for me. If the ride ends up being better than Maelstrom then I could care less whether it's Frozen based or not (I'm not even that much into the movie). If it becomes a cheapo boring ride, then that's a different story. Disney has previously taken some good attractions and made them tamer, worse versions of the previous. I'll wait and see.

Could be wrong but I still feel like with the way the songs from the movie have been so popular with the kids, at the expense of some us parents' sanity, that they could have reworked the Mickey Philharmagic attraction and either fully dedicated it to this or potentially just updated it and included some of these newer Characters they want incorporated. This gives you a relatively quick turn to capitalize on the popularity while you plan a more impressive attraction to add somewhere. I could see a fully dedicated theater to frozen with new facade and interior design doing quite well and helping with the Magic Kingdom Fantasyland experience even more. With the effects you could have it snow in there, "ice" splash up on the audience as the ice workers chip away, the many popular songs from that movie would play quite well. I don't know but this would have made more sense than sticking it in Epcot Norway. We will see though.....maybe it will work there.....I still think the Rat could work in France better than this but we will see.

So what happens when Frozen begins to not be cool with the kids anymore? To me it will be stale quicker than we think... Nothing like having an attraction that is based on a movie that was popular at one time...

Disneyland doesn't have it much better. It was rethemed to Tarzan, a film Disney doesn't seem to remember making either (although it did have a TV show in the early 2000s and a direct-to-video midquel, plus a sequel if that compilation movie based on the show qualifies).

Until 2010, Tarzan was #3 on the list of WDAS's top grossing films, right behind Lion King and Aladdin. It also had top selling soundtrack and a Broadway musical.

This is kind of my thought as well. By the time this is open to ride, I think a good majority of the Frozen obsession will have subsided. Disney has been shoving it in our faces for so long that I believe people are starting not to care as much at this point. Thats not to say people won't still like it. They just might not be willing to waste a day waiting for the ride and meet and greet, especially if the ride is just sort of Meh.....
