Based on others feedback on the forum, cast are scheduled to work, also cast have the opportunity to sign up for available shifts that open up. Any other tidbits you choose to share?
I’ll repeat on how scheduling is done at WDW.

Here is the order on how cast members are scheduled:
1. Full time
2. College Program
3. Part time
4. Seasonal

Cast members can sign up for extra shifts on EHH. Sometimes they are blocked from picking up shifts if it’s their sixth or seventh day because of overtime.

Sounds fair. CP need those hours to keep paying rent living in Disney housing.

One place where I worked the company out a squeeze on part timers working too many hours. If the part time employees work too many hours they would be changed to full time status.

Correct. Although there are times when Full time cast members are scheduled less than 40 hour weeks while CPs are scheduled. I think that is when the idea of them stealing hours comes into play.

I wouldn't say it was overstaffed on the front line. It's overstaffed with a ton of low-to-middle salaried management.

I speak purely anecdotally, but I think it varies. Quick-service at Epcot and to a lesser extent DAK and DHS is STUFFED from my experience.

If we’re talking about coords, not salaried. If we’re taking about leaders, I anecdotally disagree. Leaders are notorious for how little they interact with CMs, they get stretched across multiple areas (in my experience, all of sunset boulevard or all of SWGE)

That's leadership 101. More responsibilities on top of current ones. The opinion there is too many salaried ranks which I also do not agree on also.

All the Spring/Spring Advantage CPs that were sent home lost Hub access yesterday and today we got an email that says they will not be inviting us back to finish our programs and we will have to reapply if we want to do it. (The next program is Spring 2021) :(

Also all Professional Interns were told yesterday they are losing their jobs. Which is a big deal because most PIs stay with the company in leadership roles. They don't live in housing either so they moved to Orlando and are now jobless.

I’m surprised they didn’t do this already. They did it in late 01 or early 02

I imagine travel restrictions may have factored into the timing.

They can always repurpose the complex
I mean, possibly, but the rest of the fall program (not fall advantage) is still proceeding as normal. The program is cheap labor. They were planning on expanding with the new complex. why would they stop altogether? My email from disney today said they look forward to resuming the program. They were also building the complex with a university dorm company.
