Disney charging extra for over 2 people?

If they don't then why do they ask for everyone's names and birthdays on My Disney Experience. I actually had to change our trip for May to the fall today and the lady informs me that I would have to add my 2 year old tickets and dining plan because he would now be 3 when we were going. I figured that would happen but i wasn't gonna say anything if she didn't say anything.

They charge extra for more than 2 adults in a room per night. Children under 17 do not apply to the added cost.

They don't keep track on an individual basis, I don't know for certain as far as packages go.

FWIW, you don't get charged the extra fee if you stay in a suite at AoA. I don't know the maximum number of adults you're allowed to have in the suite with no extra charge, but I know we were not charged anything extra for having a 3rd adult. I believe this is also true for Deluxe Villas.

They do sometimes. A friend reserving her first family trip and gave a birthdate different than the one I'd given when the three of us went. Disney had his original birthdate on file. She had to tell them I was mistaken, she was his mother, she knew how old he was.

So, they keep track sometimes. For sure.

Yeah, I might be wrong about the packages but I'm almost 100% certain they don't on an individual basis when buying tickets.

The only way they'd have known, in our case, was the room. We didn't get tickets from them that time. :)

I think that is why they demand names, addresses and birthdays for every person in the room, but am not sure. Since then, I always let people know that they keep that info and may try to use it against you later. Also, some people might just prefer to keep their children's (or their own) info private.

Hotelier hat on. Her status of living at home and in high school is completely irrelevant. The only reliable, objective measure for determining adult status is age. A person is either 18 or above or not. It's the one thing that can't be argued, you either have the age proof (like birth certificate) or you don't. That's why it's chosen, no arguments and very objective and very fair. There are no grey areas.

Since there has to be some cutoff set the hotel determines what age it sets the bar at. If you are over your are expected to pay the extra fault fee.
I believe the rule is put in place so when adults/friends from different households decide to share a room just to save money not when your child has a birthday.

So why exactly other then pure greed do hotels charge more for having 3-4 ppl in the room with 2 beds?

The only thing I could possibly see but wouldn't agree with is if both beds are used it would take maid service longer to clean but then what happens if a brother and sister share a room, their using 2 beds and not being charged.

More than two adults, not more than 2 people.

They want the money, that's all. :)

I've already made the reservation. Not trying to cheat Disney, I just don't see the difference right now with her status-nothing's changed, she still lives at home and in high school.

That is exactly what you are trying to do, cheat Disney. You obviously know that anyone age 18 and over brings the extra charge, so you are lying about it. What else would you consider it than cheating Disney?o_O

I think Disney would be more interested to know that we are celebrating our 30th trip with our daughter then to know shes turning 18 ten days before we arrive.

Really? You don't think they would care that you are only paying the room cost that you deem acceptable? Not the price they are telling you you need to pay?:jawdrop: I'd like for you to call them and tell them that, and see what kind of answer you get.
