As the title says... We're losing DCR as well as CTF. Entertainment was informed today..... and BAH

Thanks for being impossible to read.
Disney Channel Rocks is what ?

Reading between the lines entertainment at Disney Hollywood Studios (very hard to type, I should type DHS). I may of seen part of Disney Channel Rocks and I think part part of the problem is the small demographic that it entertained, the other issue I had is the "Disney Channel" is not aired in Canada had no idea what Disney Channel Rocks was supposed to represent.

why does everyone hate the BAH? I think the lil store underneath is tacky... but I like a big icon as you enter the park. the theater just isn't a big wow factor... especially to those that have no clue what it is (most kidos)
This is how I feel as well. I love the hat being the park icon. The store is whatever but I don't understand why everyone hates it so much.
Because THIS says Hollywood in its golden age:

This says tacky and cartoonish marketing gimmick:

the show of what... the Chinese theater? that's not very "Disney-like" in my opinion compared to other theme park icons - just my opinion
its not supposed to be Disney like, though I get your point trust me many people love the hat but this is an issue of following a theme the idea of the park is to take you straight into Hollywood and having the Chinese theater which is still a major icon today be the focal point sets the tone of the overall theme.

Couldnt agree more Disney channel rocks was singing songs from high school musical which is a movie which has greatly lost its affect after 2009 heck most little ones don't even know it now a days. I love the fact that you brought up how little the demographic was because that show appealed to the 13 year olds of 2007 every time I saw it being performed I rolled my eyes and decided to find an attraction to wait in line in.

I love how some peoples argument is the Chinese theater doesn't act as an attention getter clearly from these photos you can tell where the focal point is, something doesn't have to be directly plopped in the middle for it to be the focal area of the park.

I think it should also be pointed out the Earful Tower was the park icon before the BAH. The hat was clearly a way to create an icon that could be photographed by and with guests so that Disney could then turn around and sell that photo with the park icon to you. They couldn't "sell" a water tower.

Yeah...and like most kiddos know what Spaceship Earth is...or the Carthay Circle Theater...

The Chinese theater really excited me as a kid because I remembered seeing the real thing on tv and so it was almost like actually being in Hollywood - but not

The BAH is plastic-looking, tacky, and clutters up the walkway in DHS. Plus it clashes with the surroundings and does NOT bespeak "Old Hollywood" in the least.

Completely agree with you. I also think that if the hat gets removed that it will relive the heavy traffic in that area

Grauman's Chinese Theater is a gorgeous building, and the replica at DHS is almost as gorgeous...and HUGE. And if the kiddies don't know what it is, well, hey, parents, that there's what you call a "teachable moment"...

Sadly a lot of the parents don't know what it is either. They know it is a building in Hollywood but that's it

It's actually very "Disney-like." The old Hollywood Blvd. area is designed to be like the Hollywood-cousin of Main Street, USA. It's a sentimental look back to a bygone era, that never truly was real, but lives as an imagined reality. Just as Main Street has a castle as the "weenie" at the end of the street, so does Hollywood Blvd. It has/had Hollywood's version of a castle, a movie palace in form of the Chinese Theatre.

Hollywood Blvd. actually told a much "truer" story architecturally than Main Street ever did. Main Street is turn-of-the-century Eastern Seaboard with a giant french chateau at the end; while Hollywood Blvd. ended in a very real icon that fit in with the rest of the design of the street.
