So that’s 4 net new attractions in how many years?
Did you think I said that the rate of expansion was just fine? Because I didn't.

I was just responding to someone who said there wasn't any expansion at all.

The rate of expansion is about to increase, tho, with the pledge of $60B for all parks and cruises and $17B for WDW alone.

At the risk of scouring 5 pages - whats the general consesus is Iger doing a good job or not ?
No. How much of a bad job depends on the day and who you are talking with.

ETA: A more nuanced version would be that not everything he does is hated by everyone, but I don't think anyone likes all the choices being made. It seems like the majority are unhappy with the overall direction of the parks in particular even if they like some occasional choice/change.

That makes the numbers far worse if you’re defending the Emperor…

Probably something Len would have the best info on
Now come on, I've been in discussions with you long enough that you should know better than to think I'm defending him. BUT, I am pointing out where I think he's getting his numbers from. I could see the capacity being more now based on theoretical numbers. But I also highly doubt these new rides have run too close to capacity for a given day. And it's worth pointing out again, I'll bet the capacity numbers he cites do not factor in all the extra little things that were cut and people used to enjoy as well.

Sorry…I don’t think you were

I was trying to say if “one were inclined to defend him”

The reality is their lack of commitment to operational maintenance to avoid and limit closures has drug capacity down even further across the board

Oh, I read it way wrong, my fault. And completely agree with everything here.

Whate date did they start counting what goes towards the 17B? and have they plowed through most of it already?
Do the new DVC properties like the Poly Tower and Lakeside Lodge count towards the 17B?
Is there an amount that is earmarked specifically for THeme Parks rides and attractions?

The devil is in the details, ain’t it?

It was just attractions vs attractions. When all is said and done, the capacity increase isn't what it needs to be for the attendance increases. It's all a guessing game really. In theory muppets has a near 2400 people per hour. But we all know it's not running at capacity. The last few trips, we're huge Muppet fans so go a few times per visit, the theater is at least half full in summer. I'm not sure what the door coaster will have. Will it be close to something like slinky? If so that would make it a wash at the low end and and a few hundred more per hour on the high end.

I would guess most of the new attractions will see a higher per hour capacity. But how much of an hourly bump do we see overall when you factor all the shuttered attractions and the replacement differential? It doesn't seem that it would be enough for the attendance they get, to make any real difference. It's why I've argued monsters and cars should just go into the open spots they have.
I have read( or saw on you tube) that muppets theater will be replaced with a new show. So the door coaster a least will be new capacity.

It’s being demolished for the ride

They threw out some comment about a theater possibility over by tower

But that as vague and fence sitting as possible

We’ve come to learn not to bet the marbles on that

Nov 24th concept art , has the theater intact with a new show. Shown on WDW magic. Now what they actually build who knows.
Well it depends on if they want to go outside of the park footprint as is…but coasters take up a lot of space…even short ones like this will undoubtedly be…

They also are doing some placating with these replacements…knowing they are starting to get some larger blogger pushback on them.

So keep the theater is the “concept”…which will resemble nothing in the end.

It happens when you “cleverly” try to pull that trick where you dump old ride space to add “new” ride space. That gag only works for so many decades before even Americans catch on 😎

What are you even talking about?
Problems with ingles today, senior?

But I’ll concede that I didn’t look at the complete concept BS prior to posting that…so I’ll amend to “possibly demolishing” the theater…and possibly adding a show…somewhere.

Does that work for you?

How are things in Osceola this evening?

i figured you posted without actually knowing what you were talking about. Thanks for confirming that.

Unless plans change the theater is staying.

I’m not sure what you’re referring to regarding a new theater near tower. There are no plans for that.

You’re probably closer to Osceola than I am.
