Recently, according to an article in the Wall Street Journal, BC claimed to be catering to the audience. What audience does BC think is being catered to? BC has, is and has indicated a continuance of this so-called catering, welllll simply put, continuance of this so-called catering will ensure a diminishing audience to the point where eventually there will be no audience.
When you get right down to it everything they are doing with this reservation mess is another step to take away your freedom, no different than big govt control. And while Id like to agree with the bolded that's probably not going to happen, even though I wish it would to kick BC on his caboose and out the door.... This is now a company that says if you don't like it don't come, we don't want you....its just so sad and pathetic that's the BC/J'DA mentality. But they apparently aren't too worried. They are on a mission to make the place disneyplus/dvc exclusive for the most part, the day is coming. They do not want passholders or locals, shows how blind they are because they/we do spend plenty. BC is so proud of this reservation junk. I agree that the less more come and spend it will show, but thats not going to happen. Seems like the more they raise prices on everything, the more crowded it is. Its insane.

Based on resort availability at Christmas BC is clearly catering to the crowd that stays in the deluxe resorts.

I can see this being annoying for locals and APs, but as a “tourist”, out of country visitor, this really makes no difference for me.

Whether I go to Italy, New York, or Disney, I book my events in advance, with date / time slots set.

Much of a muchness for a traveller like me.
It may not, now, but it does have an effect when you want to be spontaneous. I am the "family in CO." Not the once every 5 years, but I do live in CO. There is a new Gargoyle mug that is coming out at Trader Sam's at DLR Friday. They announced it on Tuesday. Due to SWA shredding our bag on our last trip, we have over $600 in LUV vouchers burning a hole in our pocket. If it weren't for the dang reservation system, I would have booked the flight, and bought a 2 or 3-day DL ticket and flown down. But no reservations for this weekend. I don't even need to ride a bunch of rides, but I do want to get in the parks at least. So they could have sold a mug to me, and pocketed several hundred dollars by the time I got done shopping and eating. Instead, they will sell it to a local who doesn't even do Disney but a buddy told him to download the app, reserve a slot, go buy the mug and then flip it on the secondary market.

I have to think this is a case of protecting him is somehow protecting them. As if another leadership change so soon would make investors even more concerned about the company's future.
Disney big fear among others is an outsider coming in , breaking up the company and selling parts of the company to the highest bidder.
