You mean Japan?

Japan too, but the mask wearing thing was most popular in China during SARS. They wear them to help prevent the spread of diseases and it's a show of politeness and courtesy. I can maybe see the first hours of a park opening, everyone will be in masks. It will be some newsworthy pictures. But take that same picture after the midday sun comes shining in. Masks will be completely off.

Americans will not even come close to mask wearing norms of Hong Kong. Americans will openly "hock a lugy" and spit without a second thought, because it is gross to swallow said lugy. It's going to be a giant cluster of people trying to get into the parks, waiting around at their resort trying to get transpiration to whatever park isn't at capacity and only 10% of guests will be wearing their masks properly and not shouting a whistling at each other and stepping on feet and bumping into each other to try to get into a park. But hey enjoy your backordered Disney masks.

For anyone that pre-ordered these Disney masks, did you receive a confirmation email?
I did. I also ordered a purse at the same time and that has been shipped and due to arrive on Monday, May 11--not the masks (which was expected since it said delivery not until mid-June).

Thank you. I never got an email but saw a pending charge for them on my credit card. Now the charge is gone and my Disney account shows no order history. So I must have screwed that up. Will try again soon

The masks on the Disney website won't protect you. only the n95 and n 99 vog masks by the CDC and fda approved are able to save you.
Actually, even an N95 won't necessarily "save you". Full HAZMAT gear? Much closer to "safe". Still not perfect.

So why the cheap cotton masks? They aren't to save YOU - they are there to save the OTHER person from a 70 MPH shot of your spit & snot.
Similar to a basic blue Medical Mask - designed to protect the PATIENT from the Physician.

Now consider - if we ALL do this? It's the OTHER person that is protecting YOU :).

DW & I have N95s (the real deal 3Ms). We've used these on airplanes to/from WDW for the last 8 years :). We'll use 'em while traveling to/from Orlando in NOV 2020. In the Parks? We will be using basic "protect the other guy" masks :). Because a full tilt N95 WOULD be pretty hard to deal with for a good 6 hour Park Visit, in FL heat :).

Hi. This is a question for anyone who ordered a mask from Disney on the first day (April 30): Did anyone get a shipping confirmation email yet? I believe when I ordered my masks they said available June 15, but I haven't heard anything since. Thanks.

I ordered the same day, with 6/15 delivery estimate, and haven't received a shipping confirmation yet either.

I emailed them since chat is not available. I asked them the same question as I need them for my early July trip specifically. I ordered a pillow when they had free shipping last week on June 2. That has not even shipped yet, so I am concerned about the masks making it on time.

I just chatted to someone and they are saying they will start processing them on June 22 and it could be another 2-3 weeks until they actually ship. So going by that, I will not receive it until after I have left for my trip.

So that means until September, lots of "profit" being donated to MedShare.

I don't see a downside to this.
Someone will have to correct me if I'm wrong but I'm 95% sure, they've already reached the goal of money to be donated to MedShare. I just can't find the thing that said it at the moment. I'm going to look.
