Disney and WDW Cast Unions Reach Reopening Agreements

That was actually my point with the comparison:
You don't have a right to blow cigarette smoke on others. Disney (as well as the government) can limit your smoking in public places, force you to limit your smoking to certain areas. Because when you smoke, you're affecting the health of nearby people.
For the exact same logic, people can be required to wear a mask when in public. Because when you go without a mask, you're not just affecting yourself, you are potentially affecting others nearby.

And I have found peer pressure (combined with govt and private policy) has generally kept smokers in line. Occasionally you get a jerk of lights up their smoke right in the middle of a crowded place. But that typically invites lots of dirty looks.
This comparison is absurd.

What I keep seeing is people who are unwilling to follow the mask requirements currently. Do we really think Disney is going to tell CMs to confront guests who aren't wearing their masks?

Yes. I see security telling guests politely to get a mask, and if they don't have one, offering them a mask. If they refuse, they can be escorted cheerfully to the gate.

The majority of performers in parades, shows and atmosphere are covered under Teamsters, which is part of this agreement. The only exception are the Equity performers (singers, principal dancers, stuntmen) who are covered under Actors Equity Association.

And the AFM musicians, who have their own arrangement as well.

This comparison is absurd.

anybody who would dare try to get into my personal space without a mask (during this pandemic) is no different than someone who would walk into my personal space smoking a cigarette. Mask-less is a bit worse.

I am pleased to see businesses having the good sense to require masks, and thankful that most people around me are respecting the rules. Have had enough Covid death in my community, glad to finally be healing.

I had asked about this earlier. Does this include the piano players, grand floridian orchestra, mariachi, Main Street Philharmonic?

Dapper Dans and Voices are both equity asfaik, and I know Citizens of Main Street and Hollywood are equity.

Some cast are getting notices to return to work.
Might not be in there "Home" park, might be other areas, but notices are going out now.

FL hasn't even reached phase 2 yet. They have no idea when they can open, other than an estimate. All signs indicate they will be closed until early-to-mid July and it's far too early to recall people now.

They may be recalling a couple hundred people to help with signage, testing, etc but that's about it.

Also none of the schedulers or labor management people have been recalled yet to schedule these "cast" on a mass scale.

There was a guy who went with no mask to disney springs and tried crying the whole this is a free country speech, only for the CM to tell them that Disney is a private company and they kicked him off the property. yeah, good luck pushing their buttons

IIRC, it's based on how they auditioned. If they are primarily singers, they're Equity; but if they primarily play an instrument (but can do backing vocals or minimal interaction with guests), they're AFM. With bands, I believe they're all AFM.

Well they do for cigarettes, inappropriate shirts / attire, and actions.
So yes, I do see them enforcing new guidelines.
Pretty hard to equate these things to mandatory face masks. Instances are few and far between
Did it? WDW hasn't called any substantial amount of CMs back yet and there's some belief that UO moved too soon with so much uncertainty about cases and numbers.
I don’t think universal impacts Disney’s decision making process much at all...

In fact...near the top of Disney’s concern list is just how much traffic will come and if it’s worth it? Universal willing to test that is a good thing for Burbank
