I heard that Mattel is angry at Disney because the Snow White dolls are already going on sale.
Yeah they were so angry they just renewed the contract for Toy Story, that'll show Disney how angry you are that products aren't selling -

The article feels like a hit job entirely focused on torching Zegler's career even though all the reviews said she was the only consistent bright spot of the film and how awful Gadot's performance was. I wouldn't be surprised if the source was Gadot's camp trying to do damage control.

Gadot hasn’t publicly commented on her costar at all. She had to get security; Zegler had to get a social media watcher. And you think this suggests Gadot is the irresponsible one here? She’s worked on countless large casts over the last 15 or so years and there’s never been a problem like this coming out from her cast mates.

“You’ll never work in this town again” was made for times like this
I suspect her future will be largely in theater where talent is more important than public image, I wouldn’t be surprised if that’s her choice also, her movie career can’t have been very fun for her. If I were her I’d enjoy a couple years of being praised for singing and acting rather than scrutinized over every word spoken.

I would agree with this in general, however I suspect she'll be up for more movie roles in the near future. As external "drama" for this single movie aside, she is still fairly well praised in this movie and the several others she's been in.

Cool. Please let us know when this materializes.

It’s very clear what that article is. A bunch of highly-paid Disney execs who made a series of bottomlessly stupid decisions about the movie are frantically trying to divert attention from their culpability by drawing a target on someone that a lot of people are already primed to hate. It’s utterly unforgivable behavior.

This thread likes hating Disney execs - well, it’s very warranted here.

No disagreement here. Marc Webb should never be given a big budget again. Whoever did the SFX should be run out like Victoria Alonzo. Whoever greenlit the entire concept of the movie should be gone (I think he is). And maybe whoever thought it was a good idea that a screenwriter whose biggest claim to fame was Secretary should write a Disney Princess film should also be shown the door. But in keeping with the times, Zegler has her own agency and chose to make numerous public pronouncements that adversely affected the marketing for this film in a very calculable way, and that should also not be excused.

As others have said, if there's an agenda at play with the Variety article, I think it would be from executives. Ultimately they're responsible for the movie and if the blame can be laid on Zegler, it is better for them.

That doesn't mean the information isn't true though. You also have quotes from other execs and agents talking about how Disney did a bad job. It's not just about Zegler.

Disney did a horrible job. It doesn’t excuse Zegler taking a flamethrower to the project.

I think she’ll eventually get another chance but I’ll be surprised if we see her on the big screen again in the next 5 years, 2-3 years for public sentiment to change and then 2 years for her next movies filming, editing, etc.

Her box office record is heavily against her at this point, her talent gets praised in every movie but she simply doesn’t have box office pull.
Now someone will mention The Hunger Games, which made approximately half of what the last Jennifer Lawrence Hunger Games movie did.

I'm surprised her insufferable fans on Twitter don't go and support her, I guess they are just a loud minority.

NO star has box office pull anymore. None. Tom Cruise seemed to be the sole exception, but that’s fading fast.
