Quick lesson in RTEs (Rich Text Editors) for phones, if the image is as wide as your text its going to show up huge on any other browser. You can also tell because of the image size, in case your image is 1125x2202 basically that means it'll be long and wide across the screen because that translates to the number of pixels used to display the image, 1200x800 is usually a standard size for best displaying on most screens whether phone or desktop, as it'll be a long but not as wide image. Long story short once you get beyond an 800 width it starts to require scrolling unless you have a wide screen. I would even make it like 900x800, so its a bit easier on the eyes, but that is just personal preference. I think the image I just posted earlier was like 1200x1100, and you can see that was displaying fine on a phone.

I'm mostly just wanting to get a specific time-stamped projection down in writing, so I can see how close I come and make changes to how I think about these things in the future as needed.

It’s just courteous to post smaller images so it displays best on all displays. Having a tech background I’m just aware of it more because I post and edit on many different devices and have worked with many different technologies since the beginning of the internet basically.
But do what makes you happy. Just don’t be surprised when someone comments on a post that your image looks huge.

I mean, I'm the one who initially commented, so clearly I do at least a little. On a computer, an image that takes up more than half of the screen's width feels like someone's yelling at me.
[But I also understand that I'm in the minority who tries really hard not to do things with the general Internet on phones because I think they make for terrible computers. There's a reason everyone develops an app for you to use instead.]

Oh yes its a thing. Working in tech I've published a lot of documents and images that are viewable on many platforms. As I always have to be conscious of the devices they will be displayed on I have to make sure that an image that is uploaded isn't going to require a user to scroll too much to view it. So yes its courteous to post smaller images for this reason. Not saying anyone has to follow it, but it is something that many follow when creating content.
As far as anyone caring, someone cared enough to make a comment on it, and it wasn't even me. So yeah I would say people care.

In this case I'll apologize for automatically assuming intent. Its just easy to assume though given a specific post and surrounding the topic of box office and the discussion of certain movies falling short at the box office and posters that tend to gloat over that, especially when there is no additional context to go by. So one can see why the post comes across that way.

We all tend to be less charitable to posters whose opinions we don’t share. I find myself doing it all the time (not liking a post I agree with because of its author, not giving the benefit of the doubt even when it’s deserved, etc.), so please know that I’m not calling you out specifically!

To bring this back to the box office, its really looking like M:I8 isn't even going to break $200M domestic just like the last one, and I'm beginning to think it may not even reach the $172M that the last one did just two years ago.

I think Moana 2 is actually a pretty good comp. Which also had to compete against Mufasa and Sonic and Wicked to some extent.
The trajectory should be fairly apparent coming off this weekend.

Yes I am very much looking forward to this. It's by Noah Hawley who does the amazing Fargo series as well as the Legion show.
It won't. Too much competition around it. Action and the fatigue, Horror and Family time with lots of options in those about to hit.

Inspired by a @TP2000 target run, I’ve done a quick scan of Fukuoka to get the pulse of the health of stitch in the Non-maihama catchment Japan - heading into the box office weekend.
He seems healthy, spotting him filling random gotcha machines around the city. A perusal of a Disney Store has him well represented along with the fab five. A good amount of Zootopia (for the year end) and the always quizzical adoration of Lotso. I think this random wall of stickers and bands captures the franchises they rather like.
Lots of movie displays, but also noted a bunch of Minecraft and this is the launch day for Mario Kart World (Switch 2) and a new Pokemon TCG expansion. Those also are dominating the vibes.
